Greg Hudman

Gulf Publishing Company has suffered the tragic loss of Greg Hudman, our Director of Technology and Manufacturing, whose battle with pancreatic cancer ended July 18, 2004. Greg, 37, was born to Harvey and Shirley Hudman and in addition to his parents is survived by his son, Hunter, sister Natalie Hourshad and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

He joined the Gulf Publishing Company family in April 1996 as classified advertising manager and after displaying his multiple talents, we realized he was destined for greater things.

Greg created his own fast track and before we knew it, he had worked his way up to the title of Director of Technology and Manufacturing which encompassed at one time putting out three monthly magazines, one large catalog, multiple new websites, associated products, a variety of promotional pieces, endless power point presentations, assisting on trade show setups, plus overseeing an array of servers, routers and desktop computers. He didn't do all that alone; he had a lot of good help. In fact, Greg would say he had the best help.

Greg was a totally giving and dedicated worker from the day he started until the day he died. He had a bad habit of never saying no. One learned not to ask if he thought he could get a particular project done on time or within a budget. He always found a way to get it done. His dedication and loyalty were unending. Even while battling this hideous disease, he never stopped. He was well known not only by his coworkers but many within our community of vendors, advertisers and readers of World Oil and Hydrocarbon Processing.

Greg's life was a true gift. He was a man of strong faith. He was a gentle, kind spirited person who enjoyed life to the fullest. His sense of humor never stopped. Greg loved to have fun and would do anything fun to break up the drudgery of everyday work. His cheerful smile and giving personality will be missed by all who knew him.

An education fund for Greg's son, Hunter, has been established. Checks should be made out to CollegeChoice 529 Investment Plan and sent to:
