Emerson Process Management appointed Melissa B. Herkt as president of Process Systems and Solutions – Americas, the division created to provide process improvement solutions to various industries. She has been involved in global project management throughout her career, most recently as VP of global project management for GlaxoSmithKline. Also, Emerson appointed Mark Kennedy as director of business development for Liquefied Natural Gas. Kennedy will lead Emerson's initiative to expand delivery of process solutions for LNG. He has been active in global engineering, procurement, construction and plant services throughout his 20-year career in the process industry. 

James B. Hansen was named senior operations manager for Signa Engineering Corp., a petroleum engineering company in Houston. He has 35 years of experience as an oil and gas operations specialist and, since 1993, has been owner and president of Hansen Consulting in Montgomery, Texas, specializing in highly deviated wells. 

CorrOcean, Inc. ASA, Houston-based subsidiary of CorrOcean ASA, appointed Joergen Pedersen as US sales manager, Topside Systems. Pedersen was previously project manager for the company's corrosion, sand erosion and pressure/ temperature sensor deliveries to US offshore and onshore clients. 

The International Association of Drilling Contractors board of directors elected 2005 officers at its annual meeting. Edward D. Kautz was elected chairman. He is currently VP, US & International, for Ensign Resource Service Group. Kautz has been active in IADC since 1979, serving in a variety of volunteer assignments and on the board of directors. Paul Bragg, president and CEO of Pride International Inc., was elected vice chairman, and John Lindsay, VP, US Land Operations, Helmerich & Payne International Drilling Co., will serve as secretary-treasurer. IADC president Lee Hunt and senior VP of government affairs Brian T. Petty were reelected. IADC also elected three divisional vice presidents: Scott Gordon, Unit Drilling, VP-Land Division; Danny McNease, Rowan Companies, VP-Offshore Division; and Ross Murphy, Apache Corp., VP-Drilling Services. All terms begin Jan. 1, 2005 and are for one year. 

Cudd Well Control announced that Wayne Lansford, senior well control specialist, has joined the Cudd Well Control team. He has over 25 years of oilfield experience in all aspects of drilling, completion, workover and well control projects on land and offshore. He has spent the past 13 years working as a team leader/ senior well control specialist on numerous oilwell fires and blowouts. 

Buddy DeVoe was appointed VP of the North American oil and gas segment for ABB's Automation Technology Process Automation business. DeVoe has over 25 years' experience in the oil and gas industry, and was previously VP of ABB's Lummus Offshore Oil and Gas business development. 

EMS Pipeline Services appointed Thomas M. Moccia to VP of strategic planning and business development. Prior to joining EMS, Moccia served as VP of business development with Texas Energy Center. He previously held executive positions with Conoco, General Electric Co. and Cargill Inc. 

Occidental Petroleum Corp. elected Todd Stevens VP, acquisitions and corporate finance. He joined Occidental in 1995. He served most recently as director, mergers and acquisitions, with responsibility for evaluating and developing strategic and business opportunities, including restructuring alternatives, mergers and acquisitions, and asset dispositions. 

Baker Hughes Inc. named Chad C. Deaton as chairman of the board and CEO. Deaton has been CEO and president of Hanover Compressor in Houston, Texas, since 2002. Previously, he served as the executive VP of Schlumberger Oilfield Services, and has been in the oilfield services business for over 27 years. 

Vibtech, the Scottish developer of wireless solutions for oil and gas exploration, appointed Douglas Gibson as CEO. He has spent his career in the industry, working for Geosource, Dresser Atlas and Halliburton before starting his own company in South America, investing in several high-technology companies and representing their interests around the world. 

Kerr-McGee Worldwide Corp. named Tina Poos VP and treasurer. Poos is responsible for the company's banking, cash management, financial services, and pension and savings plan investments. She joined Kerr-McGee in 2002 as manager of financial reporting and was promoted to assistant corporate controller in February 2004. 

Petrogen Corp. named S. Sam Sen as executive VP of business development to support its growth initiatives. Sen will identify and evaluate future opportunities for the company while managing its corporate support structure. He brings over 23 years of applied business and technical experience in the energy industry, most recently as project manager, worldwide business development, and manager, new venture development with Anadarko Petroleum.
