 Down-hole pump

Fig 1R&M Energy Systems offers a new Moyno Ultra-Drive Model CV1 down-hole pump drive head. This electrically driven drive head offers rugged construction and different operational features for medium-duty progressing cavity pump applications. It has polished rod speeds to 600 rpm and 1,600-ft-lb torque rating on its recoil braking system. The low-profile design simplifies field mounting and installation, and a removable sealing system permits flexibility and easy maintenance. It can accommodate 1-1/4-in. or 1-1/2-in. polished rods. (R&M Energy Systems)

 Welding power supplies

Fig 2Thermal Arc fields a new team of inverter arc welding power supplies geared especially for portable STICK, TIG and multiprocess construction and maintenance welding duties. The nine members of Thermal Arc’s portable inverters for construction and maintenance applications range in weight from about 19 lb. to 63 lb. All units include a voltage-reduction device that reduces OCV when the power supply is in use, eliminating the chance of accidental electric shock. A new simplified, push-button control panel with digital meter is standard on all models. The control panel is weather protected to stand up to onsite rigors associated with construction and maintenance environments. (Thermal Arc)

 Connection technology

Tenaris introduced new connection technology called TenarisBlue. It is designed for use in complex and environmentally sensitive oil and gas activities offering enhanced performance under the most demanding conditions. The connector provides added value through safety, lower trouble time and less risk. It has a dopeless option for enhanced environmental protection. (Tenaris)

 Drilling, completions benchmarking

Rushmore Associates’ and Sigma Consultancy’s benchmarking service for drilling and completions helps oil companies improve their performance. This service enables oil companies to compare their own drilling and completions performance with their competitor’s to then identify and improve certain areas. Companies are able to set targets and better plan and budget areas where they have not yet operated. (Rushmore Associates and Sigma Consulting)

 Fieldsafe solution

Fig 3 Emerson Process Management introduced Bettis FieldSAFE solution for safety-instrument systems to protect against plant process upsets and/or failures. This solution is suitable for SIL 2 and SIL 3 applications when a partial stroke test is performed. The company guarantees lower acquisition costs, reduced labor requirements, increased operating flexibility and improved ownership costs. (Emerson Process Management)

 Chemical injection system

YZ Systems Milton Roy introduced the Chemjex brand chemical injection system for corrosion inhibitor injection. The system has a pneumatically actuated positive-displacement skid that provides, proportional-to-flow injection and remote flow monitoring through a SCADA communication link. (Y2 Systems Milton Roy)

 Subsea pressure transmitter

Fig 4GE Druck designed the PTX 300 series of pressure transmitters for subsea use. It is available with up to 15,000 psi operating ranges and is fully submersible with up to 4,000 psi ambient pressure rating. Originally designed for aerospace hydraulic systems, the series used micro-machined, piezo resistive, silicon pressure measurement technology. It is packaged to suit specific requirements of subsea hydraulic control systems. (GE Druck)

 Liquid level switch

Fig 5Dwyer Instruments Inc. released the Model F7-LL low liquid level switch. It is able to detect liquid levels from 15.9mm from tank bottom. It is designed with a hermetically sealed reed switch for long-term reliable service. The stem and mounting are constructed of Polysulfone and paired with a Buna-N float to use with water, gasoline, petroleum products, some oils and chemicals. This level switch has -40° to 180°F temperature limit, a 50 psig max pressure limit, and an approximate 2mm deadband. (Dwyer Control Gages)
