Apache Corp. promoted Michael S. Bahorich to executive VP, E&P technology. Lisa Floyd was promoted to executive VP, business development and E&P Services. Mike Harris was named worldwide director of drilling. Dwayne Schultz was appointed southern region VP.

Deborah Rowell, founding executive director of the Petroleum Technology Transfer Council (PTTC), was presented an appreciation plaque for her outstanding service as the first executive director of PTTC at a farewell dinner held in her honor. Donald F. Duttlinger will replace her.

Ray Tune was appointed president of New Tech Rock Bit Co. Jim Snider was appointed executive VP.

International guests at the April meeting of the Houston chapter of NOMADS were Oswaldo Gomer, and Arun Karle.

Kevin Meyers, president and CEO of ARCO Alaska, Inc., was elected senior VP of Phillips and president and CEO of Phillips Alaska, Inc.

Dr. Thomas A. Smith, president of Seismic Micro-Technology, was awarded the Society of Exploration Geophysicists’ Enterprise Award award recognizing the accomplishments of individuals who ". . . have demonstrated courage, ingenuity and achievement while risking their own resources and future in developing a product, service, organization or activity, which is recognized as a distinct and worthy contribution to the industry."

Canyon Offshore appointed Graham Openshaw to the newly created position of commercial VP.

Bill Tripicchio was named business development manager, focused on USA wireline logging independents for ASEP AP. Kevin Peters was named sales manager.

Santa Fe Snyder’s current CEO James L. Payne assumed the additional title of board chairman.

Sandvik Steel elected Lars Pettersson president of Sandvik Steel and executive VP of the Sandvik Group.

Roy M. White joined Paragon Engineering Services as senior project engineer for floating production systems design and engineering.

Global Industries, Ltd., appointed Peter Atkinson president.

Oceaneering International promoted Frank D. Palm, Jr., to safety director. Scott Wagner was promoted to America’s region VP and general manager for ROVs. Kevin Kerins became eastern region managing director.

Belco Oil & Gas Corp. President Grant W. Henderson also assumed the position of COO.

Baker Hughes Inc. named Michael E. Wiley chairman of the board, president and CEO.

Blake Simmons was promoted to president and managing director of Global Marine UK Ltd. in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Chip Handley joined PC&E as general engineer, and Karen White joined as senior drafter.

Michael Burns was appointed chairman of Lateral Vector Resources Inc.

Robert K. Merrill joined Samson in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as technical manager, geology.

Joe Hwang will oversee upcoming E&P activities in Conoco’s expanding office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Ultramar Diamond Shamrock Corp. named Curt Anastasio as president and COO of Shamrock Logistics.

Maarsden W. Miller, Jr., retired from XCL Ltd. Danny M. Dobbs will continue as president.

Dominion Energy elected James K. Martin U.S. business development VP.

Fortune Oil & Gas, Inc., appointed G. L. Fletcher operations VP.

David Park was appointed president and CEO of TrueNorth Energy.

Frank Jacobs was appointed Anzoil NL’s CEO.

Red Fox Environmental Services is under the new ownership of Glen Richardson. Keith Richardson joined as president. George Mestayer was promoted to VP of worldwide operations. Dave Dixon was promoted to worldwide operations manager.

Bruce Malcolm joined EDG, Inc., in Houston to head its marine engineering department, providing engineering solutions on floating production systems including submersible, semisubmersible and vessel design. Phillip Myint joined as project manager.

Hiroshi Miyashara was named managing director of NKK Europe Ltd., succeeding Yuzo Matsushita, who has returned to Tokyo as senior general manager in the Steel Division. Keisuke Tomura became general manager of the Bangkok office replacing Yukio Terada, who was appointed general manager of the operation scheduling department at the Fukuyama Works. The new general manager of the Beijing office is Noriaki Takai, replacing the retiring Kosuke Kabashima. Yoshihiro Ohki is the new general manager of the Taipei office, replacing Mitsuru Sakamonto who has returned to New Tech Corp. an NKK affiliate in Tokyo.

Don Campbell and Carol Bigus joined OpenLink, a provider of energy and risk management software solutions.

Bachrach, Wood, Peters & Associates elected A. C. "Pete" Peters president, replacing Kevin Jacomine. James Bailey was elected VP and COO.

The Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission (IOGCC) re-elected Alaska Gov. Tony Knowles to its top leadership spot for 2001. Other elected officers include Philip Asprodites, 2nd vice chairman; Tony Garza will move up to vice chairman.

Santos Ltd. appointed Stephen Gerlach deputy chairman of the board.

Energy Market Consultants Ltd. (EMC), now part of the Robertson Group, appointed Graham L. Heard as executive chairman.

Centurion Energy International Inc. appointed M. N. (Mike) Zayat manager, new business development. Dr. Hany Elsharkawi became general manager of its district office in Cairo, Egypt. Keith Howells was apointed general manager of Tunisian operations.

Groppe, Long & Littell appointed Anne E. Dutcher as senior analyst.
