FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WORLD OIL magazine and PTTC Form Alliance: Focus On Technologies For Independent ProducersHOUSTON (January 27, 1999) Exploration, drilling and production technologies that have been successfully field-tested will be featured in a new digest to be published this summer. The new publication is being developed as part of an alliance between Gulf Publishing Company's World Oil magazine and the Petroleum Technology Transfer Council (PTTC), a national not-for-profit organization funded primarily by the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Fossil Energy. Expected to be released this September as a supplement to World Oil magazine, the digest will highlight case studies of upstream technologies proven to be cost-effective for U.S. independent oil and natural gas producers. "We often hear that producers want access to case studies that share exploration and development experiences in the field," said PTTC Chair Bob Nance, president of Nance Petroleum Corp., Billings, Mont. "With World Oils established reader network, combined with PTTCs direct connections to technology solutions, there will be thousands more independent producers having access to information that can help them survive todays oil price crisis," he added. Lanie Finlayson, publisher of World Oil magazine said, "The profits of U.S. producers are being severely squeezed by historically low oil prices. Producers are continually looking for new technologies that will lower their operating costs. Our alliance with PTTC should help broaden the dissemination of information on technologies that have proven cost-effective. We expect to deliver this new technology-driven publication to over 10,000 industry professionals working for U.S. independent producers." Authors interested in submitting case studies for possible inclusion are encouraged to contact PTTC at 1-888-THE-PTTC. For advertising inquiries, contact World Oil at 713-529-4301.
