Santa Fe Energy Resources promoted Timothy S. Parker to exploration and land senior VP.

Venezuelan president-elect Hugo Chavez appointed Ali Rodriguez as Energy and Mines Minister, replacing Erwin Arrieta.

Michael D. Watford assumed the newly-created position of chairman and CEO as Ultra Petroleum re-organizes its management team to maximize development in Wyoming.

R. C. Lassiter assumed the office of president in addition to his duties as chairman and CEO of Daniel Industries. Loy Upp joined Daniel Measurement Services as senior consultant.

Enron International appointed Rebecca A. McDonald executive managing director overseeing development projects in the Africa, China and Asia-Pacific regions.

Professor Alex Kemp of the University of Aberdeen’s Department of Economics and one of World Oil magazine’s editorial advisors was appointed by the Prime Minister as Official Historian to write the Official History of the Development of North Sea Oil and Gas.

Mark Mulvihill was named research and development manager for Bestolife Corp.

Dwight Beach was appointed president and COO of The Flexitallic Group, Inc.

International Energy Services, Inc. appointed Pat Herbert as chairman and CEO.

John McMillian was elected chairman, president and CEO of Chaparral Resources Inc.

Twachtman Snyder & Byrd, Inc., appointed Tom B. Slocum manager of the Downhole Services Group.

Jack Cochran was promoted to exploration and production VP for Statoil Energy.

Oceaneering International, Inc. promoted Joe Wadsworth to telecommunication / commercial operations divisions VP.

Robert D. Stiner joined James E. Smith & Associates, Inc., as senior geophysicist and geologist.

Anzoil appointed Frank Jacobs new venture manager / petroleum engineering manager.

Consolidated Natural Gas named Melanie J. Blaser as director of corporate communications.

BP Amoco appointed Sir Ian Prosser deputy chairman.

Ross E. Meadows joined Traton Engineering Co. L.L.C. as business development VP.

GeoGraphix appointed Michael Weiss VP of development.

Frederik Hvistendahl was appointed managing director of Hitec Drilling & Marine Systems AS, Stavanger.

Paul L. Caldwell, Jr., chairman and managing director of Mobil Producing Nigeria, Inc., was named 1999 Black Engineer of the Year by the U.S. Black Engineer and Information Technology Magazine. The award recognizes the successes of African Americans in technology to reinforce the benefits of a technical education for African American youths.

Nigel Thorburn and Jeff Owens joined Sercel Inc.-USA as sales representative and sales administration manager, respectively.

Dave Caplan and Glynn Brewer joined Geodynamic Solutions, Inc., as new senior software engineers. New software engineers are Ray Reza, Murali Krishna Cheruvu, Tige Richardson and Jay Gilbreath. Wade Koteras joined as VP Product Development.

The new directors for Keppel Hitachi Zozen Ltd. (KHZ) include: Bernard Tan Tiong Gie, chairman of the board; and Loh Wing Siew, joint vice chairman; Charles Foo Chee Lee, managing director.

Dresser Instruments named John Henson technical operations VP for precision instruments and transducer operations. Bruce Albright was named manufacturing manager.

W. H. "Bill" Humppi joined Automated Valve Products as sales manager.

Veritas DGC Inc. promoted Cameron Astill to vice president, Asia-Pacific and Peter Whiting to regional processing manager.

Bernard Vitry was appointed managing director of Total Oil Marine, plc. Mohammed Zaki was named business development and exploration manager. Jean-Claude Ragot was named technical services manager. Jean-Marc Noiray was appointed manager of the St. Fergus Gas Terminal.

Ann V. Robertson was elected VP of Coastal States Management Corp.

Enron Corp. promoted Mark Palmer to public relations VP.
