LAGCOE and INNOV8 Acadiana to host Energy Innovators Pitch Challenge


HOUSTON -- Following its success at LAGCOE 2015, LAGCOE and INNOV8 Acadiana will again host the Energy Innovators Pitch Challenge. This event seeks to connect the best emerging energy innovators ready to move their business ideas forward with credible investors.

The Energy Innovator’s Pitch Challenge winners will be showcased during LAGCOE 2017 from October 24-26, with a culminating pitch event on the 26th.

"The Energy Innovators Pitch Challenge allows LAGCOE to help move new technologies and ideas forward from their earliest stages, which is very exciting,” said Angela Cring, LAGCOE executive director.

Applicants are currently available at All energy related businesses and ideas are encouraged to participate. Eight selected candidates will participate in the “Shark Tank” style pitch competition on October 26th.

On Thursday, October 26, from 10-11:30 a.m., each innovator will be given 3 minutes to pitch their idea to a panel of investors following a 3-minute Q&A in front of a live audience. The selected candidates will also be given complimentary table space in the LAGCOE 2017 Energy Innovator’s Tent to showcase their emerging innovation or idea throughout the three-day technical exposition & conference.

“Investors from around the state are motivated to invest in new energy related innovations coming for this exciting event,” said Pete Prados, INNOV8 Acadiana director. “Whether you are a start-up or a thriving business with room for growth, now is the time to launch to the next level of success!”

Winners will be chosen with cash, awards, and other prizes handed out immediately following all the presentations. All innovators will be eligible to present their full business plan to Acadiana Angels with the potential for funding and partnerships.
