Gulf Publishing hires Pramod Kulkarni as Editor of World Oil

Houston, Texas – Pramod Kulkarni, a journalist and engineer with 30 years’ experience in oil and gas technology, has joined Houston-based Gulf Publishing Company as editor of World Oil.
“Pramod’s experience and background make him the ideal person to lead content development for World Oil magazine and World Oil Online for the global markets we serve,” said John Royall, President & CEO of Gulf Publishing. “His previous work in communications for upstream technology will allow him to very effectively serve the information needs of the engineers and managers that make up the World Oil audience.”
Kulkarni was most recently a contributing editor to World Oil, writing the publication’s “What’s New in Production” column. From 1999 to 2009, he served as Communications Manager for Baker Hughes, working on communications for drilling, completions, testing, oil tools, fluids, and other upstream technologies. At Baker Hughes, he was managing editor of InDepth, Baker Hughes’ technology magazine, and editor of Technology Update, the company’s e-newsletter.
Prior to Baker Hughes, Kulkarni worked as Communications Manager for Western Atlas International.
Kulkarni holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Utah State University. In addition to receiving an MA in Journalism from the University of Iowa, he completed an MBA in Marketing and Finance from the University of Houston.

Kulkarni has been a resident of Houston for 30 years.
