WebCreek releases virtual reality oilfield training solution

HOUSTON -- Houston-based software company WebCreek has recently launched its virtual training module for oilfield operations.

The new service, called Omni, was developed to help companies design customized training modules using virtual reality. The software is based on current video game technology. It can be custom-built for each company, to focus on specific types of training, such as new operational procedures, proper use of equipment, or health and safety.

For instance, the software's health and safety module could allow trainees to experience customized educational units based on real-life scenarios. Employees would use a specialized headset to “walk around” field sites and undergo critical drills and emergency scenarios, from a safe vantage point, away from the field, to ensure comprehensive training.

WebCreek has more than 20 years of experience developing software solutions for companies across the U.S. To learn more about Omni, email info@webcreek.com, or visit liveyourdata.com.
