January 23, 2017

LYNGBY, Denmark -- Maersk Drilling has been awarded a new contract with Petrogas E&P Netherlands B.V. for the Maersk Resolute jackup. The firm contract covers the drilling of two wells, A8 and A9, in Block A12 on the Dutch Continental Shelf.

The drilling of the two wells is estimated to have a duration of 75 days. Furthermore, an option to extend the contract for up to five additional wells exists.

Operations are expected to commence in June 2017 in the Dutch Sector of the North Sea.

“I am very pleased that Maersk Drilling has been able to secure a new contract for the jackup, Maersk Resolute. Despite the current market situation, Maersk Drilling continues to be able to build on its contract backlog,” said Michael Reimer Mortensen, V.P. and head of global sales, Maersk Drilling.

Maersk Resolute is currently warm-stacked in the Port of Esbjerg, Denmark, and it has now started preparing for the upcoming drilling campaign.
