Chevron awards structural integrity services contract to Atkins

LONDON -- Chevron North Sea has awarded Atkins a three-year framework contract for structural integrity services across selected fixed and floating platforms in the UK North Sea.

Les Newman, director in Atkins’ Energy business, said, “Our team is driven by the market need to reduce unit operating costs by improving production and optimizing integrity, built on a foundation of improving safety performance across the asset lifecycle.”

The contract covers assets including the Alba Northern platform and the topsides of the Alba floating storage unit (the first to be purpose-built for the UK North Sea); the topsides of the Captain floating production, storage and offloading vessel, as well as the wellhead protector platform and bridge linked platform on Captain field, and the Erskine platform.
