Vallourec Star unveils $11.8 m upgrade of Oklahoma plant

MUSKOGEE, Oklahoma -- Vallourec Star has dedicated its new Bronx Straightener used in the finishing process to hot-straighten pipes for oil and gas drilling and exploration applications.

This is an $11.8 million investment in a state-of-the-art facility, rebuilt and upgraded after a fire destroyed major equipment and caused more than $6 million in property damage in August 2012.

With this capital investment, Vallourec Star installed upgraded machinery and increased the physical plant to accommodate the new equipment. It also took the opportunity to improve the flow of the plant.

Brian Sampson, General Manager said, “This investment improves our plant’s productivity and allows us to better serve our customers with faster production and improved product performance.”

The State of Oklahoma, Department of Commerce provided a $2 million grant toward the investment.
