CIMC completes mating of upper hull for COSLProspector semisubmersible

YANTAI, China -- COSLProspector , the fourth deepwater semisubmersible drilling rig constructed by Yantai CIMC Raffles Offshore on behalf of COSL Drilling has accomplished the mating milestone.

COSLProspector is a DP3 vessel with an operating depth of 1,500 m, a drilling depth of 7,600 m and a designed operating temperature of minus 20 degrees Celsius. Classed by DNV and with basic design provided by the Grenland Group, the COSLPROSPECTOR meets the requirements of the PSA and NORSOK. With the additional ICE-T, CLEAN and WINTERIZATION classification, the semisubmersible able to operate in ice conditions and low temperatures for the harsh conditions of the North Sea.

Since October,2010, CIMC Raffles has delivered three COSL serial semisubmersible drilling rigs for COSL Europe Drilling. In May 2013, CDE ranked the first during the comprehensive assessment held by Statoil among thirteen drilling subcontractors from September 2012 and May 2013. The ranking based on the average record in certain indicators for seven months, such as the operation safety, equipment integrity, operation efficiency and operation performance, etc.
