Wireless Seismic announces executive promotions

HOUSTON -- Wireless Seismic, Inc. has announced the promotions of Mr. Scott Williams to Vice President, Global Sales, and of Mr. John Flavell Smith to Vice President, Global Marketing.

In his new role, Williams will be responsible for all product and services sales activities, including revenue generation, direct client sales processes, sales forecasting, and product pricing.  Previously, he served as Director, Business Development of Wireless Seismic.  He has over 35 years of experience in the seismic industry including serving as VP Sales for Guralp, a UK-based equipment manufacturer.  Williams also held positions as Regional Manager, U.S. and Latin America Sales, for INOVA Geophysical and as Global Business Development Manager and Technical Sales Manager, Land Imaging Division, for ION Geophysical.  He began his career as a surveyor and seismic observer.

In his new role, Flavell Smith will be responsible for all corporate marketing, including marketing communications, market research, and strategic marketing for Wireless Seismic, as well as continuing to play a leading role in the business development for China, Indonesia, and Australia.  Previously, he served as Director, International Business Development of Wireless Seismic.  He is an industry veteran of over 35 years and was a co-founder and the COO of Greenrock Energy, a renewable energy services firm.  He co-founded Vibtech, the company that delivered the first “next-generation,” cable-free seismic recording systems in 1996.  When Vibtech was subsequently acquired in 2006 by Sercel, a division of CGG, Smith served as VP Corporate Development.  His prior experience includes Digicon-Far East, WesternGeco, Concept Systems, and Wood MacKenzie.
