MicroSeismic’s Duncan begins celebration of 10-year anniversary

BY PRAMOD KULKARNI

HOUSTON – MicroSeismic Inc., the pioneer of passive seismic frac monitoring in shale plays, kicked off its 10-year celebration with a cake cutting and champagne by Peter Duncan, the company’s founder, President and CEO.

Duncan said he could not have imagined the company’s success in 10 years ago. “Like many of the innovative companies that had their start in a garage,” Duncan explained, “I started Microseismic at home. In my first presentations about Microseismic, shale frac monitoring was at the bottom of the list of the possible applications of passive seismic technology.”

Duncan credited fellow MicroSeismic colleagues, including Michael Thornton, Indy Charkabarti and Greg Burns, for their contributions to the success of the company.

Peter Duncan was the winner of World Oil 2011 Innovative Thinker award.
