Noble Energy to host inaugural Eastern Mediterranean Gas Conference
NICOSIA, Cyprus -- Gulf Publishing Company has announced that Noble Energy will host the inaugural Eastern Mediterranean Gas Conference (EMGC) in Nicosia, on 26-28 March, 2013. Hyperion Systems Engineering will be the conference’s gold sponsor.
Approximately 35 Tcf of gross resources of natural gas await development in the Cypriot and Israeli sectors of the Eastern Mediterranean. Subsea development, drilling and production; subsea pipelines; and gas processing are some of the large projects underway or under study. With these developments, Cyprus is poised to become Europe’s next LNG hub.
“Far more than providing tremendous business and growth opportunities for the oil and gas industry, the abundance of natural gas resources recently discovered offshore Cyprus and Israel have the potential to forever alter the energy-security and economic landscape of the entire Eastern Mediterranean region,” Charles D. Davidson, chairman and CEO of Noble Energy, said. “Noble Energy is extremely proud to be a part of this international conference, and we are delighted that the natural gas sector is committed to helping us unlock these historic and truly transformational resources for the people of Cyprus and Israel.”
The EMGC will provide attendees with the knowledge and insight necessary to successfully build business operations in the area. The event will offer attendees an exclusive forum to network with influential executives actively planning the development of the natural gas industry in this notable region.
“The Eastern Mediterranean Gas Conference is a very exciting new event for the global energy industry. We will take all of the interest generated by one of the most significant new finds in the world and channel it into definitive information on the resources, stages of development for different fields, infrastructure requirements, and timelines to get this important resource to market,” said John Royall, president and CEO of Gulf Publishing Company, publisher of World Oil and Hydrocarbon Processing.
The EMGC will give special focus to the latest geopolitical, market and technology trends related to the exploration, drilling, production, processing and marketing of natural gas in the area. The conference will cover such critical issues as resource potential, leasing/permitting, development plans, infrastructure requirements, governmental plans and regulations, and more.
