To back our vision, the team has extensive experience in the oilfield and energy industry. Team members include:

John T. Royall
President and Chief Executive Officer
John T. Royall was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Publishing Company on April 28, 2009. Mr. Royall has extensive experience in business-to-business media and events including 22 years in business publishing. A graduate of the University of Texas, he has held executive positions at Reed Business Information and Penton Media. Previously he was Vice President of PennWell’s Offshore Group.

Ron Higgins
Vice President Sales/ Publisher
Ron Higgins is Publisher and Vice President of Sales for World Oil magazine. Ron earned a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Houston. He has been in the oil and gas publishing industry for over 37 years. His past experience includes working for a major oilfield equipment manufacturer and a major drilling contractor. He is a member of SPE, IADC, IPAA and NOMADS.

Pramod Kulkarni
Editor
Pramod Kulkarni is Editor of World Oil magazine. Kulkarni was most recently a contributing editor to World Oil. Previously, he served as Communications Manager for Baker Hughes, working on communications for a variety of upstream technologies. He was also the managing editor of InDepth, Baker Hughes’ technology magazine, and editor of Technology Update, the company’s e-newsletter. Prior to Baker Hughes, Kulkarni worked as Communications Manager for Western Atlas International. Kulkarni holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Utah State University, an MA in Journalism from the University of Iowa and an MBA in Marketing and Finance from the University of Houston.

David Michael Cohen
Production Engineering Editor
David Michael Cohen is the Managing Editor of World Oil. He is responsible primarily for placing, editing and writing production engineering, as well as other technical articles in World Oil. He also writes the "What's New in Production" column. Cohen holds a BS degree in print journalism from Texas State University-San Marcos, with coursework in mechanical engineering. His experience includes reporting assignments in the Texas capital bureau of the San Antonio Express-News and reporting and copy editing assignments at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Nell L. Benton
Associate Editor
Nell L. Benton is Associate Editor with World Oil. In her position as Associate Editor, she manages the content on World Oil Online, writes the 'Industry at a Glance', 'World of Oil' and 'Exploration-Discoveries' sections, and places and edits technical articles in World Oil. Nell received her BA in english and spanish from Southern Methodist University and her MA in journalism and MBA from the University of Missouri. Her experience includes writing marketing strategy plans for Fortune 500 oil and gas companies at Axiom, and creating digital marketing programs for various industry-leading companies.

Diane Langley
Technology Editor
Diane Langley has worked in the energy sector in editorial and marketing communications roles for a number of years in both internal and external capacities. Her experience includes communications writing/editing for such companies as Schlumberger, Weatherford, and M-I SWACO. Diane’s career with Western Geophysical involved preparation of a quarterly employee magazine in addition to a quarterly technical publication targeting clients of all four divisions of Western Atlas. She holds a BA degree in journalism from The University of Houston.

Henry Terrell
Contributing News Editor
Henry D. Terrell is Contributing News Editor for World Oil. He is responsible for producing electronic reprints and special supplements for the magazine and its sister publication Hydrocarbon Processing. In addition, he coordinates and writes the monthly Products, People, Literature and Meetings pages. He joined World Oil's parent company Gulf Publishing in 1981, and worked in various positions in editorial and production, and was named Production Director in 1994, a position he held until 2001. He holds a BA degree in english from the University of Texas.
