Optimized perforating for diversion improves proppant transport

The Engineered Perforating Solutions Division of GEODynamics, Inc., has added SandIQ Optimized Perforating for Diversion to its set of multi-stage plug-and-perf technology. The system generates optimized perforating geometry, which leads to improved proppant transport in various frac stages. Additionally, it uses continuous and consistent perforating entry points and penetration depths in wells—regardless of gun position, well casing and formation. According to GEODynamics, SandIQ improves proppant placement efficiency through the creation of a diversion ledge, in combination with a 45° formation entry ramp. Accordingly, frac sand can exit the casing with lower dynamic friction and improved coefficient of discharge. This offers completion engineers more options, when it comes to improving clusters, stages and wells.

Corrosion monitoring solutions maximize uptime

Sentry Equipment said that its redesigned Sentry Saf-T-Vise corrosion monitoring portfolio now includes a low-pressure model that is hand-inserted for 1,000 psi and below. It allows chemical engineers, as well as field technicians, to maximize production through the mitigation of materials failure in pipelines and processing equipment. It also optimizes chemical usage to aid in maximizing uptime. The line of products includes a locking collet that safely secures the shaft within the process stream, until released by the operator. The corrosion monitoring solutions protect most pressurized applications, as a variety of pressure ratings are offered. They can be mounted in any orientation needed for ease of installation and service. Additionally, extended insertion lengths of up to 20 ft make it easy to access difficult application points.

Wellsite surveillance solution offers analytics, data management

Dover Energy Automation and MOBOTIX AG have partnered in the development of a comprehensive wellsite surveillance solution. This combination integrates MOBOTIX’s suite of smart cameras and Dover Energy’s XSPOC artificial lift optimization software platform. The xVision module within Dover Energy’s XSPOC software integrates audio and video feeds from MOBOTIX’s line of smart IP cameras. The new solution provides scalability, analytics and data management. Additionally, it offers intelligent 3D motion detection, low bandwidth, high-quality image capabilities and other features, which allow personnel to execute increased levels of wellsite awareness. This reduces “windshield time” and streamlines response time to wellsite events and incidents.

Management service improves efficiency of artificial lift systems

Schlumberger has introduced the Lift IQ production life cycle management service. The service offers monitoring, diagnostics and optimization of artificial lift systems in real time. It securely collects, transmits, evaluates and interprets data from customer wells. Comprised of four service tiers—visualization, real-time surveillance and diagnostics, well optimization, and field optimization—the service ensures the best fit for a customer’s specific needs. Schlumberger reported that a customer operating in the Permian basin reduced downtime an average 43% with the use of Lift IQ. The number of site visits and related HSE risks were reportedly reduced, as well.
