Fluids separation technologies help preserve dry oil, good water quality

Baker Hughes has released TRETOLITE SNAP fluids separation technologies, a line of chemical solutions that delivers enhanced performance in several production applications, including steam-assisted gravity drainage facilities and conventional/unconventional onshore and offshore fields. The technology helps operators preserve dry oil and good water quality, while also stabilizing operations and, as a result, improving overall profitability. By minimizing oil-in-water levels to improve water quality for re-use, heat exchanger fouling and other related equipment cleanout expenses are reduced significantly. Additionally, it helps lower basic sediment and water content in the oil, reducing the amount of recycling and slop oil trucking necessary.

IoT solution provides subscription to field production data

WellAware, an oilfield monitoring technology firm—in partnership with Halliburton’s Landmark—has launched the WellAware Integrated Radio and Controller. The Internet of Things (IoT) solution offers customers a complete subscription to the collection of production data from the field, which allows them to subsequently integrate that information into Landmark’s DecisionSpace Production 365 platform. Designed specifically for the oil field, the Integrated Radio and Controller has a Class 1, Division 2 rating to meet hazardous locale safety regulations.

Data logger offers design flexibility and personalization

Watlow has introduced the D4T with INTUITION, a data logger featuring a wide array of field-removable I/O modules, which offer the utmost in design flexibility. Its configurations can be tailored to meet the scaling needs of a vast scope of equipment and applications, while also providing the hardware necessary for compatibility. The data logger features a 4.3-in. touch panel, which includes a high-resolution, graphical user interface, allowing channels, alarms, inputs and outputs to be personalized with specific designations established by the user. The D4T incorporates COMPOSER graphical configuration PC software, which archives controller setup and streamlines commissioning. Additionally, it connects easily with controllers via Ethernet.

Flowback services safeguard and stabilize hydraulic fractures

AvantGuard advanced flowback services have been introduced by Schlumberger. The services protect the connection between the hydraulic fracture and the wellbore, optimizing productivity in conventional as well as unconventional wells. Well and formation damage is thwarted actively through modification of a prognostic flowback design strategy, with a secure operating envelope. Use of the flowback design, during the shift to production, safeguards and stabilizes hydraulic fractures to efficiently enable all the clusters in each zone to produce without disruption.

Portable floodlight provides lighting in harsh environments

Lumenox has released its new LPX6 explosion-proof, ATEX/IECEx-approved, high-output, LED portable floodlight. Powered with 115 or 230VAC, the light output is 5,800 lumens, at a color temperature of 5000°K, which is generated from a group of 16 high-efficiency LED light engines. It provides provisional portable lighting in Zones 1, 2, 21 and 22 gas and dust environments. Sealed against water or dust, the floodlight can operate under harsh conditions for more than 75,000 hr. It is powered directly from the mains supply, through an integral, 0.5-m cable.

Reservoir characterization software features improved geostatistical mapping

CGG GeoSoftware has launched the latest version of its HampsonRussell reservoir characterization software. The newest version includes elements for attribute extraction and prediction along horizontal wells, as well as improved geostatistical mapping capabilities. Other features include new data conditioning practices; residual, normal moveout correction; and FXY deconvolution for noise dilution and spectral balancing. Inversion outputs impediments for pre- and post-stack data, and isolates attributes along horizontal well paths. Additionally, the software’s new MapPredict application fully assimilates map-based geostatistical software, which incorporates well, seismic and attribute data into detailed maps.

Well life simulator helps predict well interventions, downtime and expenses

A new cloud-based well life simulator for new and mature fields has been developed by ExproSoft. WellMaster Simulator was designed to help operators accurately foresee well interventions, downtime and expenses. It employs well equipment reliability data to simulate the projected downtime and interventions for wells, allowing operators to more accurately evaluate well designs, as well as to see the effect of changes in maintenance plans, to identify cost and downtime drivers, etc. RAM Studio, a Miriam software, and well equipment reliability data from WellMaster RMS make the simulation capabilities possible.
