Alasdair Fergusson has been appointed as a managing director at ClearWELL Oilfield Solutions.

Alasdair Fergusson has been appointed as a managing director at ClearWELL Oilfield Solutions. With more than 25 years of oilfield management and marketing experience, he reportedly will work to expand the company’s global footprint. Most recently, Fergusson worked for Schlumberger’s M-I SWACO as a business manager for Europe and Africa. He was based in Paris. Prior to that, he was based in the UAE, where he served as director, Eastern Hemisphere, of engineered chemistry at Weatherford. Additionally, he spent 10 years in production chemistry, drilling fluids and completion tools businesses with Baker Hughes.

Well-Centric has welcomed Gary Smart as the new CEO. Smart brings an abundance of knowledge in technology development, commercialization and global market expansion to his new position. He has held a number of management positions throughout his 30-year career, including 11 years at Weatherford. He also served as CEO at Tendeka for six years.

FairfieldNodal has added two key executives to its leadership team. Tom Scoulios, senior V.P. and CTO of geosciences will execute the company’s geoscience expansion plans through the advancement of technologic services and solutions. Additionally, Shawn Rice, senior V.P. and COO, will work to optimize the company’s operating practices through the identification of strategic partnerships.

Mark Jones has been named CEO at InterMoor. Jones, who presently serves as V.P. at Acteon, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new role. Previously, he served as managing director of a division at Expro. He also served as head of strategy and business development for Siemens Subsea. In addition to Jones’ appointment, Blair Wilson has been named global director of operations. He will report directly to Jones.

Wellsite Fishing and Rental Services has named Ryan Henderson as V.P. of sales and marketing. Based in Houston, he will recruit and manage the company’s sales team and the marketing of various product lines. He also will create and implement pricing and sales strategies. Henderson brings more than 18 years of industry experience to his new role. He has held a variety of engineering and sales positions related to drilling, completions
and production.

Wintershall has announced a change to its executive board. Dirk Elvermann, senior V.P. of projects at BASF, will replace Ties Tiessen, who will retire from the company after 21 years of service. He has been a member of the executive board of directors since February 2005. Elvermann has held a number of positions within the company since 2003, including senior counsel; V.P., head of legal and tax, Asia-Pacific; and managing director of BASF Polska. In his new role, he will manage finance, sales and commercial.

Dr. Bjarte Røed has been appointed as head of Norwegian operations at Aqualis Offshore. He will be based in Sandefjord, Norway. He most recently served as head of engineering and risk consulting. Prior to joining Aqualis, Røed held a number of management positions at Future Subsea AS. He also served as senior principle consultant at Lloyd’s Register.

DNV GL has named Brice Le Gallo as regional manager for Southeast Asia and Australia. He brings more than 15 years of technical, business development, project management and innovation experience to his new position. Le Gallo joined DNV GL in 2013. Most recently, he served as head of the Oil & Gas Technology Center.

Read Cased Hole has hired David Steer as ANSA service delivery manager. As an experienced petrophysicist, Steer will broaden the range and depth of interpretation services. Most recently, he served as lead petrophysicist at Maersk Oil’s Danish business unit. In addition to Steer’s appointment, Nicolas Kotler has been hired as a senior cased hole analyst. Kotler worked previously for Kappa Engineering.

Well-Safe Solutions has appointed Damian Bates as director of communications. Bates will guide the company’s senior management team on government policy and political relations. Previously, Bates was editor of The Press & Journal, and for sister publication The Evening Express. 

Emma Carter has been named operations manager at BiSN. With more than 17 years of management experience, Carter will work to grow the company’s products and services in the North Sea and wider Eastern Hemisphere. This includes R&D and client support. Carter joins the company from Vital Energy.

The board of directors at Baker Hughes, a GE Company (BHGE), has elected Lorenzo Simonelli as chairman of the board. Simonelli presently serves as the company’s president and CEO. With his additional role, he will replace Jeff Immelt, former GE chairman and CEO. Immelt retired from the BHGE board of directors in early October.

Torsten Murin, V.P. of the Nord Stream & Gas Transport division at Wintershall, has been named V.P. in Russia. Margarita Hoffman, who previously held the position in Russia, will take over for Murin in Kassel. She will manage the company’s gas transport and transit pipelines, including the Nord Stream pipelines. She has been a Wintershall employee since 1993. Since 2002, Murin has held a number of management positions.

Sulzer, a high-voltage coil manufacturer, has named Janice Fillinger as sales manager for the U.S. market. With experience in coil insulation and maintenance, Fillinger will work to expand the existing high-voltage coil market in the U.S., as well as develop new business throughout the region.

Niels Versfeld has been named CEO at Simmons Edeco. He brings 14 years of experience in the energy industry to his new role. Prior to joining the company, Versfeld was general manager of Gibson Energy’s environmental services division. During that time, he reportedly was influential in the company’s expansion in Canada and the U.S. Prior to that, he served as chief operations officer at Palko Environmental—until it was acquired by Gibson Energy in 2011. He also served as an environment and regulatory manager at CCS Corp.

The Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA) board of directors has elected Michael Watford as its 43rd chairman of the board. He is chairman, president and CEO at Ultra Petroleum. Watford previously served as IPAA chairman during the 2013-2015 term. Additionally, Steven Hinchman was elected as vice chairman. With more than 35 years of industry experience, Hinchman serves as president and CEO at Scala Energy.

Total has appointed Marie-Noëlle Semeria as senior V.P. and group CTO. She previously held positions with SAFRAN Group and PixTech. Additionally, Semeria led a 20-year career at CEA, where she held a number of senior management and strategy development roles. During that time, she secured multiple patents. She later became CEO of Leti, Institute of CEA, Technological Research, as well as president of the Carnot Institutes Network.
