John Flannery, president and CEO of GE Healthcare, has been elected as GE corporate’s new CEO. Flannery began his career with GE Capital in 1987, where he evaluated risk for leveraged buyouts.

John Flannery, president and CEO of GE Healthcare, has been elected as GE corporate’s new CEO. Flannery began his career with GE Capital in 1987, where he evaluated risk for leveraged buyouts. He later served GE’s equity business in Latin America, as well as the overall GE Capital business for Argentina and Chile. He also has led operations in India and the Asia-Pacific region for GE Capital. Flannery has held a number of other leadership roles at GE, including president and CEO of GE Equity and manager of business development at GE Corporate. He succeeds Jeff Immelt, chairman and CEO, who will remain chairman of the board until his retirement at the end of the year.

Fiona MacAulay has been named CEO and director at Echo Energy. With more than 30 years of industry experience, she most recently served as COO and technical director at Rockhopper Exploration. She reportedly led the company’s work on the Sea Lion project in the North Falkland basin, where there have been a number of discoveries. As a chartered geologist, she has held various senior leadership roles. Additionally, she serves as European president of AAPG. In addition to MacAulay’s appointment, Echo Energy has named Julian Bessa as V.P. of exploration. Bessa brings more than 20 years of exploration experience to his new position, including time spent as Bolivian exploration manager and V.P. of exploration, Brazil, for BG.

Halliburton has hired Christopher Weber as executive V.P. and CFO. Weber joins the company from Parker Drilling Co., where he was senior V.P. and CFO. He brings more than 20 years of industry experience to his new position. That experience includes extensive knowledge of finance, strategic planning, corporate development and operations. Prior to his position at Parker Drilling, Weber served as V.P. and treasurer 
at Ensco.

BCCK Holding Company has named Tony Canfield as V.P. of engineering. Based in Midland, Texas, Canfield will support company growth in the process and mechanical engineering fields. With 36 years of industry experience, he most recently served as project engineering manager at DCP Midstream.

Kevin Schumacker has been hired as business development manager at PJ Valves (PJV). Based in Houston, he will be tasked with implementing the company’s regional growth strategy. He will help boost the company’s U.S. presence by expanding the office 
with several new employees, as well as widening its client base in the region. With 12 years of industry experience, Schumacker brings ample knowledge of the energy sector to his new role. Prior to his appointment, he worked on a variety of major projects, including the Nexus gas transmission pipeline, the Pascagoula Base oils plant and the AGDII 
gas project.

Offshore Technical Compliance (OTC) has appointed David McCubbin as COO. He brings nearly four decades of industry experience to his new position, which includes various engineering and business analysis roles with companies like Exxon Mobil and W&T Offshore. Moreover, McCubbin formed Explore Enterprises of America, and continues to manage the company’s Gulf of Mexico assets as president. In addition, OTC has named Dan Phelps as director of compliance inspection services. Since 2013, Phelps has held a number of positions with OTC, including senior inspector and senior pressure testing specialist.

ConocoPhillips has elected Sharmila Mulligan, founder and CEO of ClearStory Data Inc., to its board of directors. Mulligan has held senior management roles at a number of software companies. As a board member at ConocoPhillips, she will serve on the audit and finance committee, as well as the public policy committee.

Scott Stephen has been appointed as Ashtead Technology’s new non-destructive testing (NDT) sales manager. Based in Aberdeen, Stephen will manage business development and general sales, as well as rental of NDT equipment and accessories. He joins the company from RSL NDT, where he served as UK manager.

Dr. Iain Wallace has been appointed as chief technology officer at Rovco in the UK. Wallace will help drive the development of a real-time 3D vision system for ROVs and AUVs. Additionally, he will study the ways artificial intelligence can be used to solve asset integrity issues.  Prior to joining Rovco, Wallace served as an autonomy and robotics analyst at SCISYS. Overall, he brings more than 15 years of experience to his new position.

Oil and gas consultancy Oil Plus has announced several key appointments within its senior management team. Peter Sanders has been appointed as technical manager. He brings more than 30 years of oil and gas experience to his new role. Additionally, Clarke Shepherd has been named global business development director. As an experienced project controls and business development manager, Shepherd will support the company’s ability to provide clients with advice on the design of efficient production facilities and cost-effective operations.

As partners, David Asmus and Brian Bradshaw have joined the energy practice of Sidley Austin LLP in Houston. With extensive knowledge of mergers and acquisitions, project development and finances, Asmus will advise clients on matters regarding shale and other unconventional resources, as well as offshore development, pipeline and processing projects, LNG, petrochemicals and refining. Likewise, Bradshaw will bring experience advising clients on acquisitions, divestitures, development and financing of oil and gas, power and LNG projects to his new position.

Stress Engineering Services has named Brian Weaver as sales manager. Based in Houston, Weaver will manage sales for the company’s upstream, midstream, materials, testing and measurement, and control practices. He joins the company from GE Oil & Gas, where he served as global account director for subsea and drilling. Weaver also served previously as sales and operations manager at FMC Technologies.

Ståle Granberg has been appointed as Hunting Energy Services’ new business development manager for Norway. According to the company, the appointment is in line with its plans to target growth in the Scandinavian energy market. With more than 20 years of experience in the energy sector, Granberg will promote the company’s well construction, completion and intervention products. He will be based in Sandnes, Stavanger, Norway.

Simon Wooler has been appointed as senior V.P. of engineering and field services for TRC Company’s oil and gas sector. Wooler brings more than 30 years of experience in business leadership and project execution for the oil and gas industry. Most recently, he managed 2,500 employees in a $500-million onshore business unit, where he oversaw all engineering, procurement and construction management services for the upstream, midstream, downstream and industrial markets.
