Perforating system generates consistent perforating entry holes
GEODynamics has added the FracIQ Limited Entry Perforating System to its “Plug and Perf” technology. The patent-pending system generates consistent perforating entry holes and penetration depths, regardless of gun position, well casing or formation type. This improves fracture planning by providing optimum pressure diversion, while constant rock penetration creates repeatable breakdown pressures. This ultimately results in improved fracture treatments, lower costs and more productive wells. The system is available in 0.30-in., 0.35-in. and 0.40-in. hole sizes, as well as GEODynamics’ IQ Gun System for precise shots placement.
Resin-coated proppant improves the health and safety of workers
A new resin-coated proppant has been released by Hexion. True North proppants are produced in Canada, and are available in 20/40 and 30/50 mesh sizes. The resin system incorporates Hexion’s Stress Bond technology, which bond in the fracture with closure stress, providing all the benefits of a curable resin-coated sand. Additionally, the proppants offer reduced dust generation during the pneumatic transfer and conveying process, compared to uncoated frac sand. Because the proppants reduce the amount of respirable silica to levels below the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Canadian limits, the health and safety of workers on location is improved.
Flame-resistant clothing line offers maximum visibility and protection
A flame-resistant (FR), high-visibility clothing line, Hi-Vis FR, has been launched by Workrite Uniform Co. The line—which includes a work shirt and vest from the company’s Dickies FR brand, and a long-sleeved knit T-shirt and a mesh vest from its Workrite FR brand—offers protection against thermal hazards, as well as improved visibility. Each garment features solid, or segmented, 2-in. reflective silver tape for improved visibility and is UL certified to the NFPA 2112 Standard on FR Garments for Protection of Industrial Personnel Against Flash Fire.
Digital management system monitors seal performance in real time
Wärtsilä Corp. has introduced the new Wärtsilä REvolution system, a digital management system that controls, monitors, records and analyzes the performance of seals autonomously and in real time. Thus, increasing the predictability and reliability of sealing solutions in rotating equipment. The system collects performance data—such as temperature, wear of the seal interface and pressure—and enables real-time lifecycle prediction and intervention to reduce friction and wear of the seal. It also protects the seal from contaminants. Additionally, the Wärtsilä REvolution system offers a comprehensive package of seals, bearings and associated solutions.
Acid stimulation system eliminates the need for diverter systems
The Speed Squeeze Retrievable Acid Stimulation System has been introduced by Energy Fishing & Rental Services (EFRS). Using a straddle-packer design to acid-stimulate individual stages, the system ensures spot placement of the acid treatment and eliminates the need for bull-heading or diverter systems. It can be used in open or cased holes and reduces fluid volume required on location. Additionally, stage counts are unlimited, and stage location is flexible. It can incorporate downhole pressure gauges, as well.
Transfer carrier features extensive passenger protection
Reflex Marine has launched WAVE-4, a standing transfer device with extensive passenger protection and a marginal footprint. With fall prevention, impact protection, as well as floating and self-righting capabilities, the transfer carrier ensures that personnel remain safe from risks, including falling, heavy landings, side impacts and immersion. Designed for maximum performance, the carrier is convenient and cost-effective.
Gaseous generator features dual-fuel capability
HIPOWER SYSTEMS has debuted its newest gaseous generator, the HRNG 95 T6. It is powered by a long-life, heavy-duty engine from Zenith. The generator can run on both natural gas and liquid propane, and can switch from one to the other based on fuel availability. The fully sound-attenuated enclosure is fabricated in 11-gauge steel, with a powder coated finish that exceeds a 1,000-hr salt spray test. It features wide, lockable steel access doors, with rubber seals for easy maintenance and service. Also, the generator includes an optional gas scrubber; a rotary voltage selector switch; a built-in power distribution panel; a heavy-duty sub base; a DOT-certified towing trailer; interior lights; alternator anti-condensation heaters; component heaters, an electric actuator and snow hoods for air intake and exhaust.
Mobile ticketing application enhances workflow in the field
Phoenix DAS has introduced a free version of the OpenTicket module, a mobile field ticketing application that allows service companies to replace paper field tickets. This enhances workflow in the field, improves the accuracy of information and decreases the payment cycle from customers. The module operates in both online and offline modes, and includes a live dashboard for tracking jobs. Companies can follow every step of a job in real time. It can be used as a standalone application, or it can be combined with other Phoenix DAS software modules.
