U.S. production fell slightly in June, decreasing by 82,000 bopd, mostly in Louisiana, Texas and Alaska. As a whole, world production fell 200,000 bopd, with the greatest declines occurring in Iraq and Norway. U.S. rotary rig count was down a mere five units to 1,762. Worldwide, however, the number of active rigs increased a healthy 104 units, just barely surpassing last year’s June count of 1,510. As has been the trend for the past year, the international offshore rig count remains mostly flat. Natural gas prices declined to $3.83/Mcf in June, continuing the slow downward trend of the past two months.
