Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority announced Monday that Anne Næss Myhrvold has been appointed to serve as its director general for a 6-year term. Myhrvold has been at BP Norge, which she joined in 2002. She has served as its head of HSE since 2009. Earlier in her career, Myhrvold worked in safety at the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate.


 Brenham Oil & Gas Corp., a subsidiary of American International Industries, Inc., announced that Bryant Mook has been appointed president and COO. Mook, a petroleum engineer and geologist, has vast experience in the industry, having worked internationally in such countries as Russia and Colombia, as well as domestically in Alaska, Texas and other oil- and gas-producing areas in the U.S.


 Noble Energy’s board of directors has elected Molly K. Williamson to its board, increasing the number of directors to 10. Williamson is currently a scholar at the Middle East Institute in Washington, D.C., following an extensive and distinguished career in the U.S. government. She has held a unique combination of policy and leadership positions in the State Department and other cabinet departments, where she specialized in Middle East policy and diplomacy. Her foreign appointments included serving as Consul General and Chief of Mission in Jerusalem. In addition to the State Department, she also held senior positions in the departments of Commerce, Defense
and Energy.


 Louisiana Gulf Coast Oil Exposition (LAGCOE) recently announced the appointments of its 2013 officers. Kirby Arceneaux has been named 2013 LAGCOE chairman, Steve Maley has been named 2013 LAGCOE chairman elect and Kenneth Crouch has been named 2013 LAGCOE treasurer.  LAGCOE will be held in Lafayette, La., at the Cajundome & Convention Center from Oct. 22–24.


 Greene’s Energy Group (GEG) has named Ryan LaBorde as Gulf Coast regional manager for the Testing and Services business unit, announced President Eric Langlinais. Based in Lafayette, La., LaBorde will be responsible for the oversight, direction and organizational support of GEG’s Testing and Services businesses, including Greene’s Nitrogen Services, Corporate Machine & Equipment, Greene’s Production System Specialists and Cherokee Services, a division of GEG.


Indonesia’s government has extended the tenure of Karen Agustiawan, the president director of state energy company Pertamina, to ensure the continuity of business plans currently being implemented, a minister said. Agustiawan’s term began in February 2009 and had been scheduled to end on March 5. Terms typically last five years, but governments in the past have occasionally changed the CEO early. Achievements during her tenure include a foray into alternative energy, such as geothermal and coal-bed methane, and pursuit of assets outside Indonesia.


 Atlas has appointed Lambert Ebot as regional manager, USA. Based in Atlas’s new office in Houston, Ebot will head up the company’s U.S. business operations with new and existing clients within the energy sector. He brings with him a wealth of business development experience in the safety sector gained from previous senior roles in HSE and risk management at Environmental Resources Management.


 Atwood Oceanics has named Jeffrey A. Miller to its board of directors. Miller currently serves as the executive VP and COO of Halliburton. Previously, held held a number of positions at Halliburton, including most recently as senior VP of Global Business Development and Marketing, responsible for strategic account management, sales and marketing. He also served as senior VP of Halliburton’s Gulf of Mexico region; VP of Halliburton’s Baroid business line; country VP for Indonesia; and country VP for Angola. Prior to his service at Halliburton, Miller began his career with Arthur Andersen.


Jiang Jiemin is scheduled to take the top position at the state-owned Asset Supervision and Administration Commission. Jiang was chairman of China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) and PetroChina. Vice Chairman Zhou Jiping will become the interim chairman of CNPC and PetroChina. Jiang was appointed chairman of listed unit PetroChina in 2007 and has been chairman of CNPC since 2011.


2H Offshore Inc., an Acteon company, has named Glen Jewell and Hanh Ha as additional directors of its London office. Jewell and Ha will share responsibility for management of engineering activities, and the continued success and development of the business. Ha’s primary activity sector will be flexible riser, flowline and umbilical engineering, and Jewell’s focus will be drilling and production risers and conductor systems.



Mountwest Gulf FZE has appointed Amin W. Bakhteyar to the position of regional manager, covering the MENA region. A graduate engineer, Bakhteyar has 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, and has worked for oilfield workshops, production plants and a large international manufacturer of drillstring products. Starting as an inspector, he moved to QHSE, operations management and business development before joining Mountwest.

The UK’s Centrica Energy announced that Sarwjit Sambhi will succeed Jonathan Roger as the managing director of Centrica Energy Upstream at the end of June. Sambhi is currently Centrica Energy’s director of major capital projects, and oversees development and delivery across the firm’s portfolio of exploration and production projects, as well as power projects. He has held this position for three years.


Vicki Quesada, formerly head of media for Halliburton, announced the formation of VQ Media Resource. The new company offers businesses of all sizes strategic planning, media buying and analysis (market and competitive) on a regional and worldwide basis.


Bosque Systems has hired Paul McCrum as the National Sales Director. Paul will be responsible for providing customer support, sales planning, and sales management for Bosque’s lines of business. Paul joins Bosque with more than 20 years of sales management experience. Before his sales career, Paul was also one of Ireland’s lead cricket players, including four years playing in South Africa.


Foster Marketing has appointed Rachel Bonnette as marketing assistant. A former intern at Foster Marketing, Bonnette’s duties include coordinating digital media advertising, online tracking analytics, media buying and scheduling. Additionally, her responsibilities will include maintaining quality control of print media, web content development and social media efforts.


Rowan Companies has promoted Thomas P. Burke, the company’s current COO, to president. He will remain as COO.
W. Matt Ralls will continue to serve as the company’s CEO until his retirement in mid-2014, when it is anticipated that Burke will succeed him as CEO and Ralls will assume the role of executive chairman. Burke joined Rowan in 2009 and currently serves as VP of IADC’s offshore division.
