Grup Servicii Petroliere has appointed Stuart D. Oakley as its new CEO, to be based in Constanta, Romania. Fanel Hahui , who previously held this position, moves into the newly created role of COO. Oakley has considerable senior executive and management experience in the marine and offshore construction industry, having worked for several firms in this sector.


The International Association of Drilling Contractors has appointed Stephen A. Colville to the position of president. This follows the retirement of former President Lee Hunt, who held that office for the past 22 years. Colville brings to IADC more than 30 years of experience in corporate public affairs and government relations in North and South America, Europe, South Africa, the Middle East, Eurasia and the Asia-Pacific region.


Torsten Marten has taken up the new post of Brazil operations manager at NCS Survey, an Acteon company. Torsten will be based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and will look after all NCS’s current and future operations in the country. He joins NCS from Subsea 7, where he was a project surveyor involved in major deepwater projects, including Total’s Pazflor development in Angola.


Tower Resources confirmed that, in light of the earlier than anticipated completion of operations on the Mvule-1 exploration well in Uganda License EA5, Peter Kingston, CEO, has stepped down from the board of directors.


Saudi Arabia has appointed Yasser Mufti as OPEC Governor at the Saudi Ministry of Petroleum & Mineral Resources. Mufti, who previously worked for Saudi Aramco, and was the country’s national representative to OPEC’s Economic Commission Board from 2003 until 2009, replaces Majid al-Moneef. Saudi Arabia in January named al-Moneef as its choice to replace the current secretary general of OPEC, Abdalla Salem el-Badri.


Foster Marketing has named Vicki Wyatt V.P. of Creative Services. Wyatt has more than 30 years of experience in marketing, public relations and print and broadcast media. She joined Foster Marketing in 1991, and prior to her promotion, served as production and traffic manager for 10 years. The company has also named Daniel Foster as V.P. of Account Services, working out of the Houston office. Foster rejoins the firm with 12 years of extensive agency experience. He was previously with Foster Marketing as director of New Business.


The Intervention & Coiled Tubing Association’s (ICoTA) European Chapter has appointed Callum Munro as its new chairman and Michael Taggart as co-chairman. Munro, a senior well engineer at BP, is responsible for identifying and implementing new well intervention technologies within the company, while also providing specific well examination services for platform and subsea well interventions across BP’s UKCS portfolio.


Kjetil Aasoldsen has become a member of the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate’s (NPD) management team as director of North Sea South. Aasoldsen has worked at the NPD since 2003, addressing various issues, but mostly with regard to fields in operation, development of discoveries and gas management.


InterOil E&P ASA announced that CTO René Graf will take on the role of new managing director. Graf has more than 35 years of international experience from the E&P sector and has been the company’s CTO since 2006. Stefan Schaub will take on the CTO position and lead the technical team in Zurich.


Scotland’s Amor Group has made a series of key appointments, including Craig Swinburn as energy sales director. Swinburn will be responsible for driving the international energy sales strategy from Amor’s Aberdeen office and will lead the growing energy team based in the Granite City. The company has also appointed Fiona Davidson, who joins as delivery director and Andy Pearson and Scott Keenon as business development managers. Sarah Bain also joins as energy sector resourcing manager.


Vanco announced that it has promoted COO Jeff Mitchell to interim CEO of Vanco Exploration, following the resignation of Gene Van Dyke, president and CEO of the company. Mitchell joined Vanco in 2003 and has held a series of senior positions with increasing responsibility.


Greene’s Energy Group (GEG) has named Lance Bolds as its chief legal counsel.  Bolds joins GEG from Global Industries Offshore, where he was employed as an in-house senior legal counsel. Based in Houston, Bolds will serve as legal counsel for all of Greene’s operations worldwide. He has more than 15 years combined business and legal experience.


Hercules Offshore has promoted Son P. Vann to V.P., Investor Relations and Planning, and John F. Wasmuth to V.P., Tax. Vann joined the company in June 2010 as director, Investor Relations and Finance. Prior to joining Hercules Offshore, he served in various financial roles in the investment banking industry at Jefferies & Company, Solomon Smith Barney and UBS. Wasmuth has served as director, Tax, since he joined the company in August 2010. His extensive experience in the oil and gas industry includes positions with Repsol Services Company, Cameron International and Shell Oil Company.


Cudd Energy Services has appointed Larry Burleson director of Business Development for Corporate Services.  In his new role, Burleson will provide leadership in building a global clientele for the company’s integrated solutions.   Burleson joins Cudd from Weir Seaboard, where he was V.P. of Sales.  He has more than 36 years of experience within the petroleum industry, with extensive knowledge of downhole tools, well control and turnkey drilling solutions.


Reservoir Group has named Fraser Louden to be managing director of its well intervention and measurements business. Louden joins from an executive advisor role at FMC Technologies. He has previous expertise at READ Well Services Ltd, where he held key roles, including CEO, vice president, business development manager and R&D manager. Louden also held key appointments covering the North Sea, Nigeria, China and Brazil.


Industrial Scientific Corporation has promoted Kevin Miller to COO and V.P. Miller joined Industrial Scientific in 2007 as the director of Sales, Americas. Since then, he has served as V.P. and general manager of Americas Sales & Services, and most recently as V.P. of Global Sales, Services & Marketing. In his new role, Miller will be responsible for sales, services, marketing, product development and manufacturing for Industrial Scientific’s portable gas detection business. Prior to joining the company, Miller was V.P. of Argosy University Online Programs


Spill Control Association of America (SCAA) has appointed three new directors and renewed a fourth director for another two-year term.  The new directors are Harry Bedrossian, SPC Brady; Michael Gallagher, CI Agent Solutions; and Devon Grennan, Global Diving & Salvage, Inc.  The board of directors granted John Parker, a sitting director and a past SCAA President, a two-year term extension.


The Center for Offshore Safety’s governing board announced Charlie Williams as the executive director. Williams joins the Center after 40 years with Shell, where he held the title, Chief Scientist, Well Engineering and Production Technology, since 2005. His work has included helping to develop high-pressure, high-temperature wells, as well as specialized drilling and completion equipment for extreme environments, such as deep water.


American Liberty Petroleum has appointment Vincent Ramirez to the company’s management team in the position of V.P. Operations. Ramirez spent six years as chairman of the board of directors for Siberian-based Vostochnaya Transnational Company, where he raised $60 million capital, managed operations for the drilling of seven wells and the construction of a 70-mile pipeline, and supervised regulatory compliance and ongoing sales operations. He has also worked as an industry consultant, including drilling and developing oil and gas fields, and evaluating projects for foreign investors.


Lamprell announced the appointment of Deena Mattar as a non-executive director of the company. Mattar served as group finance director of Kier Group, a major construction, property and services group, from 2001 to 2010, having joined Kier in 1998 as finance director of Kier National. Prior to this she held senior positions at KPMG.


Parker Drilling announced the departure of David C. Mannon, president, CEO and director. The company also announced that Robert L. (Bobby) Parker Jr., the company’s executive chairman and previous CEO, will resume the duties of president and CEO and continue to serve as executive chairman while the company continues its search for Mannon’s permanent replacement.


Gaither Petroleum Corp. announced that James E “Jim” Hammelman has joined the company as V.P. of Finance, following the retirement of F.K. Schuepbach as CFO.  He is joined by Louis E. Doublet, who has returned to the company as V.P. of Engineering and Reservoir Management.   Other moves announced include the naming of company veterans John A Wyatt C.P.A,  and Maggie Cruz as chief accounting officer and controller, respectively.


CAMAC Energy Inc. has appointed Earl W. McNiel as interim CFO of the company.  McNiel has more than thirty years of experience with public companies, primarily in the energy and waste management industries, and has broad experience in the areas of corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and financial reporting. From 2004 to 2009, he served as V.P. and CFO of Transmeridian Exploration Inc., an independent oil and gas exploration and production company. From 1994 to 2004, he was a senior executive with Pride International, serving as CFO and V.P. of Planning & Corporate Development.


Expro has appointed Sir George Buckley as its new chairman. Buckley has been the U.S.-based chairman, president and CEO of global manufacturer, 3M, since December 2005. Prior to leading 3M, he was chairman and CEO of Brunswick Corp., following a successful tenure as president of the U.S. Electric Motors Division and the Automotive and Precision Motors Division of Emerson Electric Co. in St. Louis.


T.D. Williamson (TDW) announced that Bruce Thames has been promoted to the position of Sr. V.P. and COO. Thames will be responsible for overseeing completion of strategic TDW initiatives, as well as driving the day-to-day execution of business around the world. Thames has 25 years of experience serving the international oil and gas industry. He has a strong operating background and disciplined approach to management, with particular emphasis on engineering, product development, operations and market development. Thames joined TDW in 2005 as director of Business Development.


Fluor Corporation announced Senior V.P. and CFO D. Michael Steuert will retire at the end of May. Steuert will remain with Fluor through the end of the year in a consulting role. The company also announced the appointment of Biggs C. Porter to the position of Sr. V.P. and CFO. Porter joins Fluor from Tenet Healthcare where he spent the last six years as CFO. Porter will lead Fluor’s finance, audit, investor relations, compliance and M&A functions.


Anders Eldrup will resign from his role as CEO of DONG Energy. He will do so by mutual consent. Carsten Krogsgaard Thomsen, who has been the company’s CFO since 2002, has been appointed as acting CEO and a process has been set in motion to identify a new CEO. Eldrup was previously permanent Secretary of State at the Danish Ministry of Finance. He started at DONG in 2001.


KazMunaiGas Exploration Production (EP KMG) appointed the General Director of its parent company KazMunaiGas (KMG) Lyazzat Kiinov as chairman of the company’s board of directors at the regular meeting of the EP KMG Board of Directors on March. 14, the company reported. Since April 2010 he held the post of vice-minister of oil and gas of the Republic of Kazakhstan.


Multi Products Company (Multi) announced that Kevin Brady has been named president.  In this position, Brady will be responsible for all day to day business matters including sales, marketing and operations.  He will be responsible for energizing the company’s growth plan with new products, services and geographic expansion. Brady joins Multi from Verdande Technology in Houston, where he was the V.P. of Sales and Marketing.  Prior to Verdande Technology, Brady developed a successful career with Halliburton, Knowledge Systems and Precision Drilling, primarily working in the sales, marketing and field engineering areas. 


Petrobras has elected José Eduardo de Barros Dutra as corporate and services director. Mr. de Barros Dutra was Petrobras CEO from January 2003 to July 2005, also serving as a member of the company’s board of directors and as Petrobras Distribuidora director. The new office will be responsible for the following areas: organization, management and governance; human resources; safety and environment, energy efficiency, and health and shared services.


Rialto announced the appointment of Bruce Burrows as non-executive chairman of the company. The appointment of Burrows is part of succession planning and anticipated AIM listing in the coming months. It follows the relocation of senior management and operations to London, ahead of the company’s drilling program in Block CI 202 in Côte d’Ivoire which is due to start imminently. Burrows becomes non-executive chairman after holding the position of non-executive director at Rialto since May 2011. He is the CFO at Seven Energy International Ltd, an oil and gas explorer with interests in Nigeria.


Ridgewood Energy appointed Peter A. Zwart as executive V.P. of the company’s commercial division. Zwart will oversee all commercial aspects of the firm’s offshore oil and gas activities, including matters of land management, oil and gas marketing, and planning. Zwart joins Ridgewood Energy following a 29-year career at BP.
