Oilennium Ltd., a provider of training programs to the oil and gas industry, appointed Samantha May to the position of Commercial Manager. She has 12 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, focusing on marketing, operations and facilities management. Before joining Oilennium, May worked for Specialised Management Services Ltd. in Great Yarmouth, most recently as Business Development and Facilities Manager at the company’s base in Aberdeen.

Multi-Chem, a provider of oilfield production chemicals, has promoted Dr. Zubin Patel to Director of Capital Expenditure and Flow Assurance. He has been instrumental in developing new testing methods and equipment for testing low-dosage hydrate inhibitors. Before joining Multi-Chem in 2008, Patel worked for another production chemical company as Hydrate Group Leader and Manager of Flow Assurance Research.

Chevron Corp. named Matthew J. Foehr as Corporate VP and Comptroller. He succeeds Mark A. Humphrey, who is retiring from the position after 34 years with the company. Foehr is currently VP of Finance for Chevron’s Global Upstream and Gas business. In his new capacity, he will also oversee Finance Shared Services.

Laurus Energy announced that Don A. Turkleson has joined the management team as CFO. Prior to joining Laurus, he was Senior VP and CFO for Cheniere Energy Inc. Turkleson also served as VP, Finance, for PetroCorp. Inc.

Seismic Micro-Technology (SMT) has appointed TengBeng Koid  as President International, overseeing the company’s operations in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Australia and Africa. The appointment follows the opening of SMT’s fifth regional office, located in Abu Dhabi. Previously, Koid was Executive VP and COO for Global Business Development at ION Geophysical.

Newfield Exploration Co. named Lee K. Boothby as Chairman of the Board. He will continue to serve as President and CEO. Boothby succeeds David A. Trice, current Chairman and past President and CEO. Boothby was named President in February 2009 and CEO in May.

Electro-Flow Controls (EFC), an Aberdeen-based designer and manufacturer of instrumentation, monitoring and control systems for the oil and gas industry, has appointed Dave Walker as Financial Director. Formerly a Senior Business Development Partner at Clydesdale Bank, Walker has more than 20 years of experience in both the financial sector and oil and gas.

EagleBurgmann, a manufacturer of mechanical seals, systems, packing and expansion joints, named Andy Martin to the position of Communications and Public Relations Manager. Martin is considered to be one of the leading communications professionals in the industry.

Steven M. Warshauer has joined BNK Petroleum Inc. as Director of Geology. He has over 25 years of experience as a Geologist and Manager in international and domestic exploration, operations, research and training. Most recently, Warshauer was Senior Geological Advisor for Devon Energy Inc.

BJ Services Company appointed Kyle Ruzick as Area Manager, Gulf Coast, for its Process and Pipeline Services group. He has 20 years of experience in marketing, sales, engineering, technical operations and management. Ruzick began his oil industry career with Halliburton in 1990, and he joined BJ Services’ Process and Pipeline Services group in 2003.

Global Industries Ltd. appointed Trudy P. McConnaughhay as VP and Controller. She joined Global in 1999 as Assistant Corporate Controller, and has over 30 years of experience in both public and private accounting. Global also announced that Peter A. Atkinson, the current President, will act as Principal Financial Officer until the company concludes its search for a new CFO.

Schlumberger has appointed Paal Kibsgaard as COO of Schlumberger Ltd. Previously, he was President of the Reservoir Characterization Product Group, responsible for the management of the WesternGeco, Wireline, Drilling & Measurements and Testing Services product lines. Kibsgaard has held a variety of global management positions, including VP of Engineering, Manufacturing and Sustaining; VP of Personnel for Schlumberger Ltd.; and President of Schlumberger Drilling & Measurements.

Magellan Petroleum Corp. announced the appointment of William E. Begley, Jr., as its new CFO and Treasurer. Daniel J. Samela has resigned as CFO, Chief Accounting Officer and Treasurer, but will remain with the company and continue to serve as VP, New Ventures. Begley has more than 25 years of energy industry and finance experience, most recently as President of Stone & Webster Management Consulting, specializing in the design and development of major energy projects.

The Artificial Lift Company Ltd. (ALC) has promoted Dr. Hassan Mansir to VP of Engineering and Technology. He has been with ALC since early 2009 as Design Manager. The motors developed in Mansir’s technology group utilize the same advanced design tools as permanent magnet motors used on the Boeing Dreamliner and Airbus A380 aircraft. With more than 25 years of industrial experience in energy and aerospace, Mansir holds 11 patents in the area of electrical machines, controls and power electronics.
