Mustang appointed A. J. Cortez and John W. Dalton, Sr., to the newly created positions of Executive VP. Cortez has worldwide oversight of four of Mustang’s six business units: Upstream, Pipeline, Process Plants and Automation & Control. He has 34 years of experience in the design, project and construction management of oil and gas projects. Dalton has oversight for global engineering, project services, construction operations and the Midstream and Process & Industrial Business units. He has over 37 years of industry experience, including operations and staff management for all aspects of engineering, procurement and construction.

Schlumberger announced a series of management changes targeted at technology integration and enhanced service delivery. Three product group presidents were appointed: Paal Kibsgaard, Reservoir Characterization, which includes WesternGeco, Wireline, Drilling & Measurements and Well Testing technologies; Doug Pferdehirt, Reservoir Production, encompassing Well Services, Completions and Artificial Lift products and services; and Jeff Spath, Reservoir Management, which includes Data & Consulting Services, Schlumberger Information Services, Schlumberger Business Consulting, and Schlumberger Water and Carbon Services. Also, Charles Woodburn was named VP, Engineering, Manufacturing and Sustaining, and Satish Pai was named VP, Operations, to whom the following four area presidents report: Mark Corrigan, Europe, Africa and CIS, with headquarters in Paris; Bill Coates, North America, located in Houston; Cesar Jaime, Latin America, based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and Aaron Gatt Floridia, Middle East and Asia, headquartered in Dubai. In addition, Miguel Galuccio, President of Schlumberger Integrated Project Management, reports to Pai.

Baker Hughes Inc. announced that Belgacem Chariag was appointed Baker Hughes VP and President, Eastern Hemisphere Operations. He has 22 years of experience in oil- and gas-related operations, reservoir management and production enhancement. He will be located in Dubai.

The Independent Petroleum Association of Mountain States (IPAMS) announced that Jim Lightner is the recipient of its “Wildcatter of the Year” award. Nominations are based on the unique contributions and accomplishments of the individual, particularly regarding successful longtime natural gas and oil exploration and production in the Intermountain West, community service and support of oil and gas industry activities and organizations. Lightner is Partner and CEO of Orion Energy Partners, based in Denver, Colo.
