BJ Services Co. announced that Marco Acosta was appointed Latin America Area Manager for Tubular Services. In this role, he will oversee operations, business development and management of projects in Latin America that require running casing and tubing or driving conductors, particularly for deepwater tubular installations. Previously, Acosta served as Region Business Development Manager-Latin America for BJ Services’ Tubular Services line.

Thomas Blades will become the new CEO of the Siemens Energy Sector’s Oil and Gas Division. Blades succeeds Dr. Frank Stieler, who is joining the board of directors of Hochtief AG. Blades is an electrical engineer who started his career at Schlumberger and worked several years in the Middle East, the US and Germany.

OHM Rock Solid Images announced that Dr. Arthur Cheng has joined the group as Senior Rock Physics Adviser. He will assume a leadership role in managing the LFP Phase II industry-sponsored consortium investigating well and seismic methods for lithology and fluid prediction. Cheng will continue his involvement with Cambridge Geosciences, a company he founded in 2000. He has published over 80 technical papers, and co-authored three patents and two books on borehole acoustics.

Aker Solutions has appointed Erik Sverre Jenssen as President for its sub-surface consultancy Aker Geo AS. He joins the firm from StatoilHydro, where he was Platform Manager at Oseberg field center. He has more than 25 years of operational and management experience in the oil and gas industry.

Keppel Corp. has made several executive moves. Choo Chiau Beng will assume the role of CEO, succeeding Lim Chee Onn, who will continue as Non-Executive Chairman of the Board. Choo was previously CEO of Keppel Offshore and Marine (KOM). He will continue to serve as Non-Executive Chairman of KOM. Tong Chong Heong, currently Managing Director and COO of KOM, has been appointed the division’s CEO.

Alliance Engineering, part of international energy services company John Wood Group PLC, has promoted Alex Epstein to General Manager of its Denver office. He has over 22 years of engineering experience in the oil and gas industry. Wood Group has also promoted Ronald Bohannan to VP of Engineering. He has more than 34 years of industry experience in instrumentation, electrical and communication.

Chevron Corp. appointed Patricia Yarrington as VP and CFO. She succeeds Steve Crowe, who is retiring after 36 years with the company. Yarrington has served as VP and Treasurer of the corporation since 2007.

Goodrich Petroleum Corp. announced the promotions of Andrew W. Bagot to the position of Senior VP and Exploration Manager, and Thomas S. Nemec to Senior VP-Operations.

KBC Advanced Technologies plc announced the appointment of John Dosher as Senior VP of Strategic Consulting. Dosher, formerly President of Pace Consultants Inc. (now Jacobs Consultancy Inc.) is a widely recognized expert in the economics of technical planning and management of natural gas operations, refining, petrochemicals and raw materials.

US Synthetic Corp., a provider of polycrystalline diamond cutters for oil and gas exploration, announced the appointment of Rob Galloway as COO. Previously, Galloway served as VP of Operations. He joined US Synthetic in October 1997.

Kurt S. Abraham has been promoted to VP of Professional Development for the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers. He will be involved in the Alliance and its Foundation for Energy Education in a wide range of program development, membership services and special projects. Before joining the Alliance in July 2007, Abraham worked for 23 years at World Oil magazine in a series of editorial positions, most recently as Managing and International Editor.

Gordon Angus has been appointed Regional Managing Director of Aberdeen-based Peak Well Services, and will oversee the company’s operations across Europe and Africa. Also, Andy Stewart will assume the role of Wireline and Intervention Specialist.

ION Geophysical Corp. has appointed Jim Hollis as President and COO. He will report to Bob Peebler, who continues as CEO. Hollis served previously as Executive VP and COO of ION Solutions group since January 2007. Before joining ION, he was General Manager of Exploration and Development Solutions for Landmark Graphics, a Halliburton subsidiary.

Energy consulting firm Purvin & Gertz Inc. announced that C. Paul Gallagher has joined the company as a Senior Consultant in the Houston headquarters office. He comes to Purvin & Gertz from Aspen Technology, where he served as Principal Advisor for the Aspen PIMS product family.

Dr. Shuki Ronen joined Seabird Exploration as VP for Geophysics. He has long experience in seismic acquisition, processing and interpretation, having worked previously with Schlumberger, Veritas and Chevron.

Oil and gas software provider Energy Navigator has hired Tim Loser as VP of Business Development. He has over 15 years of experience in the oil and gas technology industry, having served previously with Spotfire/TIBCO and the GeoQuest division of Schlumberger.
