Alliance Engineering has appointed Edmund-Hugo Lunde as company President. Former President Norb Roobaert will transition to the role of Chairman. Lunde has been with Alliance since 1996, most recently serving as COO. Roobaert has been President of the company since it was founded in 1993.

Chevron Corp. has elected John S. Watson as Chairman of the Board and CEO of the company, effective at the end of 2009. Watson, currently Vice Chairman, succeeds David J. O’Reilly, who will retire after a 41-year career. The Chevron board also elected George L. Kirkland as Vice Chairman of the Board. He remains Executive VP of Upstream and Gas.

CCMP Capital announced that Karl Kurz has joined the firm as a Managing Director and a member of the firm’s Investment Committee. He joins Chris Behrens as co-head of CCMP’s energy investment efforts. He will be based in the company’s Houston office. Kurz served nine years with Anadarko Petroleum Corp., most recently as COO.

Tengasco Inc. appointed Michael J. Rugen as CFO. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Texas, and has been involved in the financial aspects of the oil and gas business since 1982. Previously, Rugen served as VP, Accounting and Finance, of Nighthawk Oilfield Services in Houston.

Salvador Gorbea has been appointed VP-Eastern Hemisphere and Latin America for TIW Corp. He joined TIW in 1990 and had served as VP-Central and South America since 2006. He succeeds A. R. “Roy” Fahim, who passed away unexpectedly in October 2009. Fahim held numerous positions at TIW over 33 years and for the past 21 years served as VP-Eastern Hemisphere and Mexico.

Sun River Energy Inc. announced that Jay Leaver has been appointed President of the company. Leaver, a highly experienced explorationist in the oil and gas industry, with extensive experience in the Rocky Mountain area, has served as Executive VP of Sun River Energy since 2008.

Drill String Services Inc. has added Tim Musso and Kenneth M. Elliott as company Sales Representatives. Musso, who has worked in the oil and gas service industry for 28 years, previously served as Sales Manager and VP of Sales and Marketing for Cajun Tubular Services and BJ Tubular Services. Elliott has worked in the oilfield service arena for 32 years.

Shawn Kenny has been selected for the Wood Group Chair of Arctic and Cold Region Engineering at Memorial University of Newfoundland in St. John’s, Newfoundland. The chair is sponsored by the energy services company Wood Group and associated with Memorial University’s Ocean Engineering Research Centre.

Parker Drilling appointed David C. Mannon as CEO. Mannon joined Parker Drilling in 2004 as Senior VP and COO, and was appointed President and COO in 2007. He succeeds Robert L. Parker, Jr., who will retain the position of Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mannon has nearly 30 years of experience in the drilling industry.

Foster Wheeler AG has appointed Robert C. Flexon as President and CEO of Foster Wheeler USA Corp., the company’s Global Engineering and Construction Group subsidiary based in Houston. He succeeds W. Troy Roder, who was named as Chairman and CEO of Foster Wheeler Energy Ltd., which is based in Reading, UK. Flexon is currently Executive VP and CFO of NRG Energy Inc.

Lars Christian Bacher has been appointed President of Canadian operations for Statoil. Bacher previously led the restructuring and integration of Statoil’s operations on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. He also has held several management positions at Norne and Statfjord Fields in the North Sea and was Vice President of Statoil’s Gullfaks operations.

Continental Resources Inc. has promoted Jeffrey B. Hume to President and COO of the Company. He has served as COO since October 2008. Prior to his promotion, Hume served as Senior VP of Operations. Harold Hamm will continue to serve as Chairman and CEO.

Anthony M. Guerino II, energy attorney and engineer, has joined international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, in its Houston office as a shareholder in the Litigation practice group. Prior to joining the firm, Guerino was a partner with Gardere Wynne Sewell. Guerino has more than 15 years of experience trying cases before state and federal courts, arbitration panels and agencies.

Seismic Equipment Solutions (SES) announced the appointment of Rick Luke as CFO. Luke joined the company  from WellDynamics, a specialist in intelligent completion technology, where he served as CFO. Over his 27-year career in the oil and gas industry, he has served as both financial manager and general manager in several countries.

Stuart O’Connor has been named the new Chairman of the Board of Flint Energy Services Ltd. O’Connor has been a member of Flint’s Board of Directors since 1998 and is currently President of Timber Ridge Capital Ltd., a holding and advisory firm. He succeeds the previous Chairman, John Geddes, who is retiring.

Ivanhoe Energy Inc. named Gerald Schiefelbein as CFO to succeed retiring CFO Gordon Lancaster. Schiefelbein has 23 years of finance experience in the international oil and gas industry, working in North America, Europe and the Middle East with the BP Group and Amoco. Before joining Ivanhoe, he was CFO for Chicago-based BP Integrated Supply & Trading.
