Gavin Prise has been named executive director and COO for Expro International, replacing Mike Martindale, who has retired. Prise was director of the Eastern Hemisphere Region. He has over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, the last 11 in management roles with Expro.

Weatherford International Ltd. appointed E. Lee Colley III as COO. In the newly created post, he will be responsible for the company's global operations. Colley has been with Weatherford over 10 years, most recently serving as president of the Completion & Production Systems division.

Madagascar Oil Ltd (MOL), a privately-held E&P company holding the largest current onshore exploration and development rights in Madagascar, has appointed George B. Nilsen as COO. His oil and gas experience includes senior positions with Nuevo Energy, where he served as senior VP for Strategic Planning and Asset Management. Prior to that, Nilsen managed the Gulf Coast Division of Santa Fe Snyder.

Allis-Chalmers appointed Burt A. Adams as its new president and COO. Adams joined the company in December 2006 following its acquisition of substantially all the assets of Oil & Gas Rental Services, Inc., where he served as President and COO since 1996.

Dresser-Rand Group Inc. announced responsibility changes for three members of its senior management. Jean-Francois Chevrier, VP and general manager, European Operations, will become VP and general manager, North American Operations. He has 16 years of experience with Dresser-Rand. Walter J. Nye, currently executive VP, Product Services Worldwide, will assume responsibility for the European Served Area as VP and general manager. Nye has over 31 years of experience with Dresser-Rand. He will be responsible for the German, Norwegian and French operations. Christopher Rossi, VP and general manager, North American Operations, will become executive VP, Product Services Worldwide. Rossi has served over 20 years with Dresser-Rand in various leadership positions.

Compagnie Générale de Géophysique (CGG) has appointed Thierry le Roux as president and COO. He headed the Asia-Pacific division from 1985 to 1992 before becoming VP for Business Development. He then managed the Sercel subsidiary until his appointment as group president and CFO in September 2005. The company has also appointed Stephane-Paul Frydman as CFO. Previously, he was group controller, treasurer and deputy CFO.

Saxon Oil Company Ltd. has named Richard G. Green as the CEO and president, succeeding Steven D. Saxon, who continues as a member of the company's board of directors. Green has 33 years of geological and technical engineering expertise in the oil and gas industry. He received the 2005 Distinguished Service Award from the AAPG, and serves that organization as president of the Division of Professional Affairs.

JED Oil Inc. announced that Richard D. Carmichael has been appointed the company's CFO. He has over 25 years of experience with a variety of oil and gas companies, as well as an energy income trust and industry service providers.

James Lang has joined Cambridge Energy Research Associates, an IHS company, as president and COO, succeeding Robert Lockwood, who is taking on responsibilities for IHS's expansion in Asia. Lang previously was president and COO of Strategic Decisions Group, a strategy consulting firm serving the oil and gas, power, and other industries.

Javier Gutierrez Pemberthy has been appointed as the new president of Colombia's national oil company, Ecopetrol. Gutierrez was appointed November 30. Previously, he was general manager of ISA, Colombia's state-controlled electricity company.

Cecilie Ditlev-Simonsen was appointed executive VP of Hydro, with overall responsibility for communication and reputation management. She has been head of Hydro's communication function since 2002.

Scott Schwind has joined the international law firm of Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P. as an energy partner in Houston. His transactional practice focuses on counseling multinational clients on major energy and infrastructure transactions. Schwind, who is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and French, joins the firm from Baker & McKenzie.

Viking Drilling ASA has named W. Dennis Heagney as president and CEO. With more than 30 years of experience in the offshore drilling industry, he served as president of Sonat Offshore Drilling from 1986 to 1995, and COO of Transocean Inc. from 1996 to 2002. Most recently, he was senior VP, Business Development, for Songa Management.

Berry Petroleum Co. named Steven B. Wilson as controller, following the retirement of Donald A. Dale. Wilson joined the company as assistant controller in 2003. Previously, he was an audit manager with Price Waterhouse.

RigNet, Inc., named Mark Slaughter as president and COO, and Marty Jimmerson as CFO. Slaughter has over 20 years of experience in oilfield services and remote communications, including various management and senior staff roles at Halliburton Co. He most recently served as VP and general manager of Chubb USA and Counterforce USA, business units of United Technologies' UTC Fire & Security. Jimmerson has over 13 years experience in the upstream oil and gas and wireless telecommunications industries, working Noble Drilling Corp. and American Tower.
