James B. Jennings will become chairman of Hunt Oil Co., and Stephen C. Hurley will become president. Ray L. Hunt will remain as CEO. Jennings has served as president of Hunt since l999. In addition to his duties as chairman, Jennings will continue to oversee the development of liquefied natural gas as a new line of business for the company, including Hunt's Peru LNG project. Hurley will assume overall day-to-day responsibilities for company operations, including exploration, production and marketing. 

Berry Petroleum Co. announced that Jerry V. Hoffman is retiring as president and CEO of the independent oil and gas production company. Robert F. Heinemann, the current chairman of the board, has been named interim president and CEO. The board is engaged in a search for a successor. 

Pride International, Inc., has appointed Imran Toufeeq as VP of engineering and technical services. Toufeeq was employed for 20 years with R&B Falcon, most recently as senior VP of operations. His responsibilities with Pride will include management of the completion of the company's three remaining deepwater platform rig construction projects. 

Unocal announced that Randy Howard will become senior VP, Global Gas, based in El Segundo, Calif. Howard has been VP, International Energy Operations, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam since 1999. Steve Green will succeed Howard, and will be based in Bangkok. Don Hansen succeeds Green as VP, International Energy Operations, with responsibility for the company's activities in West Africa, Latin America, Caspian region, China, Europe and Canada. Hansen is currently president and CEO of Northrock Resources, a Unocal subsidiary in Calgary, Canada. Dave Pearce will be named president of Northrock. He is a senior VP and COO of the subsidiary. 

Peter D. Kinnear was appointed executive VP of FMC Technologies, Inc., with worldwide responsibility for FMC's Energy Production Systems and Energy Processing Systems businesses. Charles H. Cannon was appointed senior VP, with continuing responsibility for the company's FoodTech and Airport Systems businesses. John T. Gremp and Tore Halvorsen have each been appointed VP, with continuing responsibility for the Energy Production Systems business. Gremp is responsible for the Western Hemisphere, based in Houston, and Halvorsen is responsible for the Eastern Hemisphere, based in Kongsberg, Norway. 

Arnold Moreno, Jr., has joined H.J. Gruy and Associates, Inc., as senior petroleum consultant for the international oil and gas consulting group. Moreno is responsible for determining reservoir potential, assessing risk, and generating economics for E&P projects. 

Steven R. Anderson has joined Decision Strategies, Inc., as a partner. Anderson brings over 23 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas business. 

Environmental consultant Wilma Subra has been named to the board of STRONGER, Inc., a non-profit organization formed in 1999 to reinvigorate and carry forward the state review process begun cooperatively in 1988 by the U.S. EPA and the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission (IOGCC). Subra is president of Subra Co. of New Iberia, La., an environmental consulting firm she founded in 1981, which provides technical assistance to community groups nationwide on a number of environmental issues, including oil and gas drilling, production and waste. 

NXT Energy has hired Dr. Nimr Arab as a consultant to the company in strategic planning and new business development. Arab has held executive positions with the Syrian Petroleum Co. and the Saudi Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and until recently held an executive position with Shell-Syria directing all exploration activities in addition to being a member of the company management team. He also acts as a member of the Advisory Committee to the Syrian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. 

Stabil Drill, a Superior Energy Services company, named Chip Olds as a district manager and added Jody Carinhas to its sales team. Olds, based in Corpus Christi, Texas, will market new products in addition to his management duties. He previously served as a manager for Oil & Gas Rental Services and has more than 25 years of oil and gas industry experience. Carinhas brings more than 23 years of experience in the rental tools business, with the last eight at Oil & Gas Rental Services. Based in Lafayette, he will cover the New Orleans, Houston and Oklahoma areas. 

Jakob Nielsen was appointed deputy head of Commercial & Financial Services for DONG Exploration & Production. He has been with the Danish oil and gas company since 1995. Søren Andersen is the new head of the Exploration Division. He was previously with Shell and DENERCO Oil. Leif Høy was appointed senior asset manager. 

Protectoseal Co. named John B. Bergeron as president of the Illinois-based firm. He served previously in management positions at American Meter, Lord Corp. and FMC Corp. 

Robert W. Fogal has joined Friede & Goldman as VP, Marketing & Business Development for the marine engineering company. He brings over 40 years of oil and gas industry experience in international sales and operations.
