The Petroleum Equipment Suppliers Association (PESA) announced the election of new officers for the 2004 – 2005 term. Craig Ketchum, president and CEO of Red Man Pipe & Supply Co., was elected chairman of the organization; Robert L. Potter, VP of FMC Technologies, Inc., is PESA vice-chairman; Jack B. Moore, president of the Cameron Division of Cooper Cameron Corp., was elected first vice president; J. Wayne Richards, VP of Well Completions & Productivity for Schlumberger, is the new Treasurer; and Christopher T. Seaver, president and CEO of Hydril Co., was elected secretary. Other members of the PESA executive committee are John F. Lauletta (Varco International Inc.), chairman of the Gulf Coast district/ Louisiana; David H. Barr (Baker Atlas), chairman of the Gulf Coast district/ Texas; Bob Arison (Anvil International, Inc.), chairman of the Mid-Continent district; Galen Cobb (Halliburton Energy Services Group), chairman of the Explorers' Committee; and Pat Hebert (JDR Cable Systems, Inc.), chairman of the Membership Committee.

Workstrings, a subsidiary of Superior Energy Services, named Morley Dupré VP – International. He has more than 35 years of experience in engineering, strategic planning and implementing oilfield operations. His work history includes Chevron, Cedarcide Industries and ONI.

Knowledge Systems has promoted Eamonn Doyle to VP of Operations for Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He is a veteran of the geopressure industry, having previously served as manager for European Operations. Previously, Doyle was with the Norsk Hydro Drilling Sector working on R&D projects for drilling applications. In addition, John McIntosh has joined the company as account manager for Europe, Africa and Middle East Operations. He brings more than 10 years of experience in services, drilling operations, subsea systems engineering and project management.

Devon Energy Corp. announced that Stephen J. Hadden has joined Devon as senior VP – Exploration and Production. Hadden's 24-year oil and gas industry career was with Texaco, where he held executive management positions at various operating divisions and at the corporate headquarters.

William G. Henderson has been named VP and controller of Transocean Inc. Henderson is a 25-year veteran of public accounting and corporate management positions. He served most recently as director, Financial Reporting, at Cooper Cameron.

Claus Kampmann was elected chairman of the board of directors of TGS-NOPEC. He has served as the chairman of the board's compensation committee for the past two years. During his 29-year career with Schlumberger, Kampmann held a number of executive-level positions including president of GECO and later Geco-Prakla.

Berry Petroleum Co. named Martin H. Young, Jr., chairman of the board, and Robert F. Heinemann as president and CEO. Heinemann has served as chairman, interim president and CEO officer since April 2004. In addition, Ralph J. Goehring, CFO, was named executive VP; Michael Duginski was named senior VP of corporate development; and Logan Magruder was named senior VP of the Rocky Mountain and Mid-continent regions. Heinemann is an energy consultant who joined the board in 2002 and continues as a director. He served as senior VP and chief technology officer of Halliburton and as chairman of the Halliburton Technology Advisory Committee. Young is the senior VP and CFO of Falcon Seaboard Holdings, L.P., a private energy company. Stephen L. Cropper, who joined the Berry board of directors in 2002 and was the former president and CEO of Williams Energy Services, will be the new chairman of the audit committee.

Bill Gammell, chief executive of Cairn Energy plc, has won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2004. Gammell, who evolved Cairn Energy from a series of oil and gas partnerships in the 1980s to a global business, competed against 45 other entrepreneurs to pick up the top award.

The Peak Group appointed Hugh Mackay as business development director. He will be based in the company's new London office. Mackay, who joins The Peak Group from Atlas Industries, will be working on the company's international business development, as well as enhancing relationships with its client base in the London area.

Latigo Petroleum, Inc., announced staff additions to its Midland, Texas, district office. Bill Siruta was named exploration manager for the Midland District. He has over 30 years of combined experience in the Permian basin, as a prospecting geologist and as an exploration manager. Mark Fairchild has joined the company as a senior operations engineer. Fairchild has over 30 years of experience in the Permian basin, with expertise in drilling, production and operations. Bill Chatham joined Latigo as a senior staff landman. He has over 20 years of experience. Leanna Adams joined the company as a marketing/ production analyst. Adams has over 20 years of experience in contract administration and production.
