Explosion-proof TV camera

The DTR 100 Z ADF is an EEx d II CT6, explosion-proof, color TV camera. It offers a compact volume of 120 mm OD and 265 mm L, an optical zoom that can magnify 10x and a tilt/rotate viewing head. Providing video surveillance in explosive-risk environments, the DTR 100 Z ADF practically obsoletes the traditional solution of an Ex camera mounted on an Ex pan/tilt unit. Some benefits of the camera include elimination of external cable that links camera to pan/tilt unit, absence of any external movement, preset zoom and focus. (HYTEC)

Chemical delivery system

Access is a chemical application and retention system that gives producers an innovative way to protect the near-wellbore area and production tubing from problematic scale growth. It improves upon the conventional batch treatment methods, thus ensuring longer treatment life and less deferred oil. It offers more rapid clean-up and minimizes damage around the near-wellbore area. The system benefits the environment as it eliminates initially wasted chemical that is typically discharged overboard following a conventional treatment. The system was tested by BP Exploration and Shell in producing wells in the North Sea and Alaska. The tested system proved effective in difficult subsea environments, horizontal wells and sensitive reservoirs. (Ondeo Nalco)

MDET detector system

The subsea MDET is a versatile wellhead sensor designed to assist deepwater operators to position specialist equipment on the seabed. It also detects the end of coiled tubing inside a riser. The system allows visual capability through steel tubulars via a remote visible and audible warning system. This enhances the process of proper equipment positioning, making it a much more precise, controlled activity. An added system benefit is the fact that the sensors clamp on to the outside of the riser, and thus do not interfere with equipment. The system detects the passing of a magnetic marker and relays this information to the cabin giving both a visual and audible warning alarm to the operators. (AnTech Ltd.)

Whipstock

The CT Mechanical Set Whipstock is a slimhole casing exit system designed to mill a window exit in the completion or production tubing, liner or casing. It enables window cutting without having to pull the existing completion or production tubing, thus eliminating the expense of a costly workover rig. It uses Diamond Speed Mill technology that allows it to set new standards for time saving and efficiency. The system’s integral anchor mechanism reduces the number of trips required to complete the window. The whipstock can be set with either Baker Oil Tools’ Model E-4 wireline pressure or Model J hydraulic setting tool. (Baker Oil Tools)

Pressure transmitter

Models 424 and 425 are rugged Hammer Union sensors designed specifically for use with 1502 and 2202, 2-in. wing unions. Model 425 is available in ranges from 0 – 5,000 psi to 15,000 psi, while Model 424 ranges from 0 – 15,000 psi to 20,000 psi. Both models deliver accuracy of 0.2% BFSL. Standard output is 4 mA – 20 mA, with a supply voltage of 9 – 28 VDC. Each unit is RFI- or EMI-protected. (Sensotec, Inc.)

Process pumps

Fig 1According to the API board, the R400 Series offers API-610 pump users a more affordable pump option without compromising performance, safety or reliability. R400 pumps “bridge the gap” between API and ANSI-style pumps. R400s are configured similarly to API-610 pumps, with heavy duty centerline supported casings in a variety of different materials, including carbon steel and 316 stainless steel. The pumps can handle flows to 6,000 gpm, heads to 800 ft, discharge pressures to 500 psig and temperatures to 500°F using ambient air cooling, or 850°F with water cooling. Landing string technology

Designed for use in ultra-deep water, Express 7 uses the simplex or direct electro-hydraulic control method, but also deploys the features and benefits of multiplex for data acquisition. This landing string control system allows for downhole storage of control fluid, which is required to operate subsea valves. By storing fluid as close to the valve as possible, the unit meets industry protocol and achieves system shut-in or well closure and disconnect within 15 sec. (Expro International Group PLC)

Scale remover

Fig 2ScaleBlaster eliminates the formation of limescale deposits in water pipes, faucets, cooling towers, boilers, injection molding, heating elements and more, without the need of water softening equipment, salts, chemicals or maintenance. The integrated circuitry system produces a complex modulating frequency waveform that hits the resonant frequency of the calcium carbonate molecules, causing them to lose their adhesive properties, thus removing existing scale. The product is non-invasive and adds nothing to water. Several models are available, and sizing is based on water hardness and pipe size. (Clearwater Enviro Technologies)
