Level measurement guide

Fig 1AMETEK Drexelbrook has published a comprehensive capabilities brochure of level-measurement solutions. The full-color catalog provides an extensive overview of measurement products, technology and applications. A wide range of point level and continuous level solutions are detailed, as well as eight different level measurement technologies that are offered – RF admittance, radar, magnetostrictive, conductivity switch, ultrasonic, time domain reflectometry (TDR), hydrostatic pressure and float switch. The brochure also provides information on the IntelliPoint no-calibration point level switch as well as the new Uniscan and IntelliScan family of non-contact ultrasonic devices.

Offshore market scenarios

The offshore industry built up a massive fleet of jackups in the early 1980s to serve a growing demand for offshore drilling. The rigs built during this period, which account for over 50% of the fleet, are now at least 20 years old. Given these facts, the question of how many more years these rigs will continue to be economic, productive and safe should be asked. This new report from ODS-Petrodata entitled Scenarios for Newbuilding and Attrition to 2015 deals with these and other issues involving the aging jackup fleet. At 140 pages in hardcover, the book addresses the outlook for the worldwide market with facts, analysis and newbuilding scenarios. Issues covered include: Global energy demand, deep-gas/shallow-water drilling, oil prices, water-depth profile of the fleet, jacket designs, the current market and prospects for the long term.

Pipeline and vessel closure

Fig 2R&M Energy Systems has published a full-color flyer that promotes the company’s new SENTRY Closure product for pipeline and vessel closures. This non-threaded, internal door closure provides many new benefits and features, including improved levels of security and safety, and easier operation. All pressure-retaining components of the system are manufactured from ASME SA-designated materials. The pressure-energized seal provides extended life and reduced maintenance expense. The simple profile of the sealing surface allows for easy inspection and cleaning, and an improved hinge arrangement and unique method of holding the locking segments open make operation easier. Also, an innovative method of securing the locking components to the door helps prevent injury during pipeline servicing.

Voltage regulator packet

An 18-page folder highlighting current market conditions and trends in voltage regulators is available from Cooper Power Systems. The packet also contains three brochures dealing with the company’s products and services, including the CL-5E regulator control and control replacement assembly (CRA). Tables, graphics and copy points give an overview of Cooper’s product line.
