 Hydraulic motors

Hägglunds Drives launched a new range of hydraulic motors, named Compact CB. These motors combine space economy with high torque and are reportedly maintenance free. They operate at low noise level. This line of compact drives is suitable for heavy duty applications. CB builds on existing designs with mechanical efficiency and provides a wider choice with regard to application in conjunction with high performance and reliability. The need was derived from a technical survey in 13 different countries. (Hägglunds Drives)

 Fastening system

The Hilti DX 351 powder-actuated fastening system is designed for use in demanding conditions, such as fastening into concrete, steel or block. Fast and reliable powder-actuated systems allow total mobility without cords. The baseplate is efficient when driving fasteners in narrow, inaccessible places such as strut channels or junction boxes when securing to concrete slabs or steel. This compact and lightweight system provides a quick way to secure low voltage bunched cable on walls or ceilings. (Hilti)

 Integrated solutions

Paradigm’s Trace-to-Target Integrated Solutions offers high-end visualization, reservoir characterization and seismic imaging. Ongoing demonstrations at different conferences will show the software’s features for structural imaging, fluid anomaly detection, reservoir characterization, pore pressure prediction and well planning. The solutions comprise workflows that customers have identified as adding significant value to their exploration and production projects. (Paradigm)

 Port elevators

Champion Elevators Inc. supplies lifts to numerous ports around the globe to significantly increase safety. The company claims that installing personnel lifts on container cranes is an economical way to transport personnel to and from the job site, reducing the time lost by personnel climbing to their work site. These particular elevators will be used to transport personnel and materials for container crane lifts. (Champion Elevators Inc.)

 Flowmeters

The new thermal mass FlexMASSter ST98 Flowmeter Series from FCI delivers precision gas flow measurement repeatability and reliability. It is capable of withstanding temperatures up to 500°F. This flowmeter supports a wide range of critical applications in chemical refining, electric power generation, steel production and other high-temperature processes. With its precision thermal mass-flow sensing element and advanced flex circuitry design, the new ST98 combines high performance with installation ease and low maintenance to reduce instrument total life cycle costs. (FCI)

 Marine engine

Cummins Marine introduced a new engine with 2,000 – 2,300 hp power range for propulsion and 1,500 – 1,825 kWe for auxiliary applications. It is currently the most powerful marine engine in the Cummins lineup. The QSK60 is a full authority electronic engine that has been engineered for reliability, durability and low operation costs. Quantum System electronics optimize the engine’s fueling for reduced emissions, smoke and fuel consumption. The electronic control module – a CM500 for propulsion, and Dominion G-drive for auxiliary configurations – allows for customized calibrations to match the engine to a vessel’s operating environment. (Cummins Marine)

 Mobile hydraulic cranes

Fig 1Air Technical Industries’ new self-propelled Mobile Hydraulic Crane is extra heavy duty. The long reach beyond the wheelbase and narrow design makes it accessible in crowded, congested areas. Its all-welded steel, heavy-duty construction is designed for rugged use. The lifting and telescopic boom functions are hydraulically operated, and the system has an overload relief valve built in. Its propulsion is industrial-battery powered. It has power steering and a variable speed drive from 0 to 4 mph. It is also equipped with an electro-mechanical brake, which is automatically engaged whenever the control handle is released. (ATI)

 Transit cases

The Road Warriors air- and water-tight transit cases are designed to protect contents. They feature a silicon, O-ring design that seals out water, salt, air and dust. They offer military-specified, recessed, steel latches and three spring-loaded, padded handles. (Ameripack Inc.)
