Cabot Oil & Gas elected Dan O. Dinges to the positions of chairman of the board and CEO succeeding the retiring Ray Seegmiller and Charles P. Siess, Jr. He joined the company in September 2001 as president and COO.

Grant Prideco, Inc., named Curtis D. Burton president of its new Marine Products and Services Division. Earl Broussard is VP and general manager of XL Systems; Larry Rogers became VP and general manager of Rotator; Ben van Bilderbeek is CEO of Plexus Ocean Systems and chairman of Plexus Deepwater Technologies. Ian Milne was appointed president of Plexus Ocean Systems, and Craig Hendrie is president of Plexus Deepwater Technologies. John R. Beltz was named marketing communications VP.

Apache Corp. elected G. Steven Farris CEO in addition to his duties as president and COO. Chairman Raymond Plank will continue to participate in the management of the company. Farris has been president and COO since 1994.

Hugh Williams was appointed CEO of International Marine Contractors Association, the international trade association representing offshore, marine and underwater engineering companies.

BJ Services Co. appointed Kenny Watt area manager-Middle East region for BJ Tubular Services. Malcolm Gray-Stephens was promoted to Technical Services Manager-Middle East & Asia Pacific region in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Cecil Hunt, chief engineer in Lufkin Industries oilfield division, has been honored with the J. C. Slonneger Award from the Southwestern Petroleum Short Course at Texas Tech University. He was honored for his contributions to production technology, his work with the short course, papers he has authored and co-authored on the beam and sucker rod pumping type of artificial lift.

Arron Burrows was appointed Innovation Manager of Gt. Yarmouth-based The Maritech Group, with responsibility for developing a new training and data processing facility at the newly opened Innovation Centre in Gorleston.

Bob D. Brady, Jr., joined Double Eagle Petroleum Co. as engineering and operations VP.

Leonard C. Cross joined Han-Padron Associates, LLP, as head of its company-wide maritime security department, based in Tampa, Florida.

Ridgeway Petroleum Corp. appointed John P. Dorrier as VP of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Ridgeway Arizona Oil Corp.

Harold M. Korell was named chairman of the board for Southwestern Energy Co., succeeding Charles E. Scharlau who will continue to serve as a member of the board.

Eastman Kodak Co.’s Commercial & Government Systems appointed Bruce A. Wald as general manager, Image Information Solutions.

RigNet announced the appointment of Andreas Elton to sales director with responsibility for domestic and international sales and customer consulting activities.

Lafayette, Louisiana-based C & C Technologies, Inc. reports its new Singapore office is now fully operational. Rick Shannon, Singapore DGPS Sales Manager, will be directing sales for Asia, Australia and the Middle East.

Mark Kidder joined A2D Technologies as senior product manager.

Pamy Virdi joined Geotrace Technologies’ London-based subsidiary as reservoir geophysicist. John Salter joined as senior reservoir geophysicist.

Baltabek M. Kuandykov2was appointed president of Nelson Resources Ltd. S. A. (Al) Sehsuvaroglu became operations senior VP.

Jim Wortham joined IHS Energy Group’s Data Logic Services as sales and marketing director. His duties will focus on growing the market share for the division’s products and services.

Officers for the 2002 – 2003 term of the Petroleum Equipment Suppliers Association are: chairman, Sheldon R. Erikson, Cooper Cameron Corp.; vice chairman, George I. Boyadjieff, Varco International, Inc.; first vice president, L. Craig Ketchum, Red Man Pipe & Supply Co.; treasurer, J. Wayne Richards, Schlumberger; and secretary, Christopher T. Seaver, Hydril Co. LP.

Death

Martin Decator Rowe, Jr., passed away on April 23, 2002. He was born Nov. 13, 1919. He enlisted in the Army in 1943 and was commissioned as 1st Lieutenant in field artillery. He served in the 97th Infantry division as a forward observer for the 797 FA BN XVI Corps and in the 94th Infantry division for the 356 FA BN. He marched over 100 miles with General Patton to drive back the German affront in the Battle of Bastogne, through the Rhineland of Central Europe and in the historic Battle of the Bulge, earning him the Bronze Star. He received his degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Texas and worked for 30 years in oil and gas production at Conoco.
