Plasma cutting system

A four-page brochure from Thermal Dynamics describes the MERLIN 6000GST. This literature highlights the system's automated process controls and advanced plasma processes with various color photographs, drawings, specs and cutting speed charts. The system is designed for high-production metal cutting using oxygen, air, nitrogen or Ar-H₂ plasma gases. The 150-amp base system includes a master power supply, remote arc starter box, remote current control and a liquid-cooled torch with cable, hoses and leads. It is rated for up to 34-in. plate. The system can be configured with a second power supply, so that it becomes a 300-amp system rated for 1-in. plate.

Ball valves

KF Industries, a division of Circor International, has published a brochure on its Series P3 trunnion-mounted ball valves. The valves feature a three-piece, bolted body design that allows maximum flexibility. The end configurations can be changed quickly and efficiently to provide excellent responsive service. The valves are available in 2 in. to 48 in., and in ANSI 150 to 1500. These forged-body valves are designed to meet the most severe, demanding pipeline applications. The valves' spring-loaded seat design provides a tight seal at lower differential pressures, allowing line pressure to effect a piston action that forces the seat to the ball for a “bubble tight” seal.

Pipeline strainers

A full-color catalog is available from Conbraco Industries. It contains detailed information on the firm’s line of more than 40 models of pipeline strainers. The literature details strainer products that are sized from 18 in. to 24 in. and built of bronze, cast iron, SS, carbon steel, chrome moly or forged steel. Included in the catalog are Y-strainers with threaded, flanged, buttweld and socket-weld end connections in addition to basket, angle-block, temporary strainers and magnetic-strainer screen assemblies. High- and low-pressure models are available.

Rod guides

R&M Energy Systems offers an expanded product catalog on its New Era and Patco rod guides. Engineered to prevent rod and tubing wear, they feature advanced design characteristics that increase production and decrease workover costs. They are manufactured from engineered plastics enhanced with performance additives. The 28-page catalog includes technical drawings, spec charts, application options and construction materials.

USB DAS

The 2002 edition of the PC Systems Handbook for Scientists and Engineers from CyberResearch introduces the UDAQ line of USB hardware and software for data acquisition. USB simplifies computer setups, speeds data transmission and simplifies field wiring. Detailed information on dozens of new motherboards, CPU cards, bus expanders, displays, custom-built PCs, digital I/O, and motion-control products, along with roughly 3,000 existing computer products are also included. The handbook provides a wide variety of tech notes and comparison charts that help engineers understand the advantages and limitations of new and traditional products.

Scab liner systems

Tam International offers a four-page brochure that describes its inflatable, thru-tubing and casing-annulus scab-liner systems. The firm's scab liners provide an effective means to isolate unwanted water producing zones and repair damaged sections in horizontal and vertical wells. The literature illustrates scab-liner applications that run on electric line, coil tubing, workstring and the firm's new slickline system. The liners can set permanently or temporarily in cased or open hole. Sizes range from 2 18 in. to 23 in., and the inflatable packers can set reliably up to 2 12 times their run-in diameter.

A 16-page brochure is available from MSI, a division of Dixie Iron Works. It features plug valves, fittings, adapters, chokes, manifolds fluid ends, triplex pumps and much more.
