The Coastal Corp. promoted R. J. Louden to senior VP, offshore production. John D. Perry became South Texas production VP and C. Tim Miller is upper Gulf Coast production VP. Dwayne G. Jammal was promoted to Rockies gas production VP.

Weatherford International, Inc., appointed Mark Hopmann and Gary Warren as senior VPs. Michael S. O’Brien was named VP, U.S. operations for its drilling and intervention services division.

McMoRan Exploration Co. named Theodore P. "Tip" Fowler as corporate senior VP and president, as well as COO of Freeport Sulphur Company.

M. David Jones, president of Cummins Engine Co.’s filtration business unit, including Fleetguard, Inc., and Nelson Industries, retired. Rick J. Mills will replace him. Kiran M. Patel was appointed executive VP.

France’s ISIS appointed Charles Prévot CEO.

Chris Wright resigned from the board of LASMO plc. Roger Tucker, president of Lasmo Venezuela, and Peter Wells, business managing director for the Middle East, will now report to Joe Darby, CEO. David Thomas has taken on responsibilities for the firm’s activities in Europe, North Africa, Pakistan, Indonesia and the Caspian. He will now also report to Joe Darby.

American International Petroleum Corp. expanded the responsibilities of President and COO Joe Michael McKinney and promoted him to CEO. Dr. George Faris, current CEO, will remain as board chairman.

Genesis Energy, L.L.C. elected John P. vonBerg vice chairman of the board of directors, while Mark Gorman was elected president and CEO. John M. Fetzer was elected executive VP, marketing and operations.

Sammy Hulpiau was named president of Alfa Laval Flow Inc.

Fred Banks joined Samson Canada, Ltd., as senior geologist.

Elsbeth Tronstad was appointed senior VP communications and public affairs of ABB Norway.

Cajun Tubular Services promoted Tim Musso to sales and marketing VP.

Ocean Energy’s President and CEO James T. Hackett assumed the additional responsibilities of chairman.

Edgar G. Hotard resigned as president and COO of Global Industries, Ltd., but will remain on the board of directors. William J. Doré, chairman and CEO, will re-assume the title of president. Rick Wiggins was promoted to VP, worldwide operations. George Friedel was named Gulf of Mexico VP and Bob Patrick was appointed VP, Central / South America and West Africa.

Parker Drilling Co. promoted Don Goodson to VP/general manager of international operations. John Gass will expand his role as international marketing VP, and Mike Lomax will continue as international operations manager.

Waukesha Engine Division appointed Steve Hall to director, power generation engine sales. Steve Swanstrom became director, gas compression engine sales.

Richard C. White was elected CEO of Veritas DGC Inc. Murray Olson was appointed executive VP.

Pierre Benichou joined TGS NOPEC Geophysical Co. as president of its Africa, Middle East and Far East division.

Tom Williams joined Maurer Engineering as marketing and business development VP.

Baker Hughes Inc. began a search for a CEO to succeed Max L. Lukens, who has resigned.

During its board of directors meeting, the Petroleum Technology Transfer Council ratified two new members. Donald W. Solanas, Jr., engineering VP for Arrowhead Exploration Co., will represent PTTC’s Central Gulf Region, and Charles L. Mankin, director of the Oklahoma Geological Survey at the University of Oklahoma, Norman, will represent the regional lead organization, as new board members.

Offshore Energy Center’s newly elected board of directors include: James L. Payne, CEO, Santa Fe Snyder, chairman; Homer H. Hershey, retired senior VP production, Mitchell Energy Corp., vice chairman; Richard A. Pattarozzi, retired VP, Shell Offshore, Inc. vice chairman, finance; W. Dennis Heagney, president & CEO, Transocean Offshore Inc., vice chairman operations.

Santa Fe International promoted Tom Seeliger to senior VP, operations manager. Roger DeFreitas was promoted to senior VP, operations manager. Steven J. Gangelhoff was promoted to VP in addition to his current duties as regional manager for southeast Asia operations.

Champion Technologies named W. S. (Sam) White as chairman emeritus, Steven J. Lindley became chairman of the board and Charles R. Hainebach is vice-chairman.

Yves Delepine was appointed VP of naval architecture and marine engineering for Aker Engineering, Inc.

W. A. (Bill) Wenger joined Para-gon Engineering Services, Inc., as project manager. Thomas J. Gregg joined as instrumentation / control systems engineer.

Valley Resources, Inc., elected William D. Mullin assistant VP, operations.

Maxwell Technologies Inc. appointed Carlton J. Eibl as president and CEO.

Guglielmo Moscato was named president of Eni’s Enrico Mattei Foundation.

Whiting Petroleum elected D. Sherwin Artus president and CEO, succeeding the retiring David A. Frawley.

Dr. Grant Robertson joined Ryder Scott Co. Petroleum Consultants as petroleum engineer.

Ron A. Brenneman succeeded the retiring Jim Stanford as president and CEO of Petro-Canada.

Altagem Resources Inc. appointed Jack Yee VP.

Richard Degner joined Petroleum Geo-Services ASA as president to develop its onshore seismic business.

Hermann F. Spoerker joined OMV’s Drilling Technology Services Group.

Steven E. Smith joined Randall & Dewey, Inc., as VP, projects.

SPS named Jeff Juergens as Gulf of Mexico manager for its Wellbore Clean-up System.

H. J. Gruy and Associates, Inc., elected Curtis R. Mayo to senior VP. Robert W. Rasor was appointed engineering manager.

Eurotherm Chessell appointed Charlie Fetty national sales manager, overseeing regional sales management teams and a network of sales representatives throughout Canada and the U.S

Ron Ford joined Ziff Energy as senior associate.

Prolong International Corp. appointed Thomas Iwanski to the newly created positions of corporate development senior VP and COO.

Joe Bennett will assume the duties of CEO of Power Exploration Inc.
