New business opportunities arise at ONS 2016

By Leif Johan Sevland, President and CEO, ONS Foundation on 8/22/2016

A lot has happened in the energy business over the past two years, and the industry finds itself in a time of transition—which is the main theme of ONS 2016. This year’s ONS will focus on how the industry can grow and evolve from here, by exploiting business opportunities that arise in the transition to the new market situation.

Business opportunities include clean and sustainable ways of producing energy, deployment of offshore competence from the oil and gas and maritime industries in renewable markets, and new technical solutions for cost reduction and energy efficiency.

Presenting business opportunities in various energy markets

The ONS Conference attracts key players of the industry, as well as ministers and officials from oil and gas producing countries. ONS aims at having a holistic view of energy, through addressing the whole energy mix, and by facilitating collaboration and the exchange of competence and resources between the different energy sectors.

This year’s conference highlights business opportunities in various energy markets; technical sessions present possible solutions to the technical challenges facing the industry. We aim at solving the challenges, through addressing issues such as Barents Sea drilling solutions, decommissioning and technical quantum leaps. In addition, the seminar ONS Renewable Markets, address how offshore competence from the oil and gas and maritime industries, can be deployed to further reduce cost and improve efficiencies in the offshore wind industry.
