Please use below online form to submit nominations for the 2009 World Oil Awards.
Rules:
1. There is no fee for making a nomination and companies and individuals can self-nominate.
2. Nominations must be submitted prior to 17 July 2009. Because of editorial deadlines, there can be no deadline extensions. By submitting a nomination, you are confirming the accuracy and appropriateness of the nomination.
3. Each nomination can only be submitted in one category, or it will be disqualified. Judges reserve the right to re-categorize a nomination to another category.
4. Nominations must pertain to commercial efforts and activities during the period of 1 July 2008 until 30 June 2009.
5. Supplemental information can be provided, but must be ONE COPY in printed form (no CDs, DVDs or Videos) on 3-hole punched paper, with a copy of the online nomination, and submitted prior to July 18, 2009. Materials cannot be returned. Please submit supplemental materials to:

6. Finalists will be alerted by the end of August of their status. Winners of the World Oil Awards will be announced at the Gala Dinner on 15 October 2009. Reserve your table for the gala dinner today, Reserve early, as this has traditionally been a sold-out event.

Innovative Thinkers Award
This award recognizes an individual or group of individuals who has demonstrated thought leadership in the upstream oil and gas sector. The winner will be an inspiration to all and a champion of the industry, not only in terms of the breadth of achievements, but also through the demonstration of vision and innovative thinking.
The Health, Safety, Environment/Sustainable Development Award
This award recognizes a company who has made significant strides in protecting and enhancing the environment and communities where it operates. Whether through technical innovations, implementation of new standards and processes, or introduction of social and economic development efforts, the winner will have a program that made a marked improvement in an HSE/sustainable development endeavor.
Best Outreach Program Award
One of the greatest challenges confronting the oil and gas industry is educating the younger generation about the value of the petroleum sector. This award recognizes the program that does the best job of teaching the general community about the oil and gas industry.
Best Exploration Technology Award
This award is given to the leading acquisition technology (including seismic and “pathfinder” technology, geochemistry and remote-sensing technology) or algorithm/processing technology introduced during the year.
Best Drilling Technology Award
This award will go to the innovators who executed an industry-leading effort during the year that had a significant impact on the industry through drilling innovation (onshore or offshore).
Best Completion Technology Award
This award recognizes the leading solution that provided a substantial impact on the industry’s completions. These completions include innovation, reliability, commercial application and industry impact.
Best Production Technology Award
This award will recognize a newly introduced production program, solution or fluid utilized during the year that allowed an operator to effectively manage and maximize production.
Best Well Intervention Award
Routine well maintenance for land, inland waters or offshore can represent the highest expenditure over the life of the well. This award recognizes new intervention technologies that help make significant improvements in terms of time saved, costs reduced or production improved.
Best Data Management & Application Solution Award
(formerly Best Data Management Solution Award) This award will recognize an implemented, viable, workflow solution focused on storage, delivery or management processes and technologies that provided tangible results at an operator or service company.
The New Horizons Idea Award
The winner of this award is for a company with a game-changing product, technology or idea that redefines the industry’s thinking. The winner of this award symbolizes how the industry will operate in the future and will serve as a guidepost to the next generation of leadership entering today’s upstream energy sector.
Next Generation Award
This award will recognize an individual under the age of 35 who is delivering new technology to the energy industry. The winner(s) will exhibit the Next Generation’s ability to find solutions to the increasing complexities in the exploration, drilling and production of hydrocarbons. Nominations will be judged on criteria including innovation, commercial application of the new technology and industry impact.
Best Drilling, Completions & Production Fluids Award
(formerly Best Fluids Award) This award category will recognize an innovative fluid (drilling or completions) or a fluid-related mechanism or process, which was commercially introduced within the last year that helped drill or complete oil/gas.
Best Visualization & Collaboration Award
(formerly Best Data Application/Visualization) This award recognizes the data visualization, storage, software or manipulation solution that shows the greatest promise in enabling operators to achieve to create a real-time collaborative environment a step-change in operating efficiency and mark the new way of doing business.
