Woodside no longer in Pluto LNG expansion talks; 1Q revenue up
BY ROSS KELLY
SYDNEY -- Woodside Petroleum booked a large rise in 1Q revenue compared to a year earlier after it switched on its Pluto LNG project last April.
However, Woodside said it is no longer talking to other natural gas companies that could have supported an expansion of the giant development.
Revenue for the three months to March 31 jumped 21% on year to $1.45 billion as total oil and natural gas production volumes increased by 55%.
"At present, there are no active discussions with other resource owners with regard to the Pluto expansion. Woodside is continuing its efforts in the pursuit of gas expansion and has exploration activities scheduled in the region over the coming years" the company said in a statement.
