Champion triathlete adds Aberdeen Drilling Consultants as sponsor
ABERDEEN -- Aberdeen Drilling Consultants have signed a sponsorship deal with one of Scotland’s most exciting sportsmen, triathlete Scott Neyedli.
Currently competing in the global arena of IRONMAN, regarded as the toughest one day multi-sports event on the planet, 2013 saw Neyedli power through to be crowned Ironman Wales champion, as well as being voted ‘Triathlete of the Year 2013’ by the readers of Beyond Going Long magazine.
An Aberdeen local, Neyedli is pursuing a successful career within the oil and gas industry, while spending most of his spare time training for his next competition.
“Ironman starts with a 3.8-km swim, followed by a 180-km bike ride, then rounded off with a 42.2-km marathon run,” explained Neyedli. “To achieve that winning edge requires more than just physical and mental strength; crucially, my bike has to be the very best it can be.”
And it’s this key piece of sports engineering that ADC have chosen to add their sponsorship weight behind. “It fits our corporate positioning of engineered performance perfectly,” said company director Austin Hay. “We understand, only too well, the impact less-than-perfect engineering can have, so it’s great to be able to sponsor this critical piece of performance equipment.”
Neyedli is set to participate next in the Ironman Pro Kona World Championship qualifications in October 2014.
