NJ residents to weigh in on offshore oil drilling
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -- Federal officials will hold a hearing on offshore oil exploration in Atlantic City Friday.
Environmentalists, fishing groups and others are expected to oppose a proposal by the federal government to conduct seismic testing on the ocean floor off the East Coast. They
fear it's the first step toward oil and gas drilling in areas that were once off-limits.
Gov. Chris Christie has opposed offshore drilling.
