BSEE: 94% of Gulf oil production remains offline

BY ANGEL GONZALEZ

HOUSTON -- Some 94% of oil production and 65% of natural gas production in the Gulf of Mexico remains off line in the wake of Hurricane Isaac, the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement said.

The amount of oil and gas shut in 1.29 MMbopd and 2.9 Bcfpd has slightly decreased, but most oil and gas producers were still restaffing and evaluating damages to their facilities before restarting production.

APC said that its Neptune offshore platform would be restaffed; its other Gulf offshore facilities Independence Hub, Gunnison, Marco Polo and Constitution have been safely restaffed, and onsite inspections showed only minor, superficial damage to grating and sheet metal, the company said.

We expect all of these facilities to re-start production as quickly and safely as possible, and as third-party operated pipelines and infrastructure allow, Anadarko said.

Chevron said it continued to redeploy personnel to offshore facilities and to restore production there.
