Tullow Oil: Will plug, abandon dry offshore French Guiana well
BY IAIN PACKHAM
LONDON -- Tullow Oil said that the Priodontes-1 well, offshore French Guiana, has now been drilled to a deeper total depth of 6,318 m in water depths of 1,750 m, but still hasn't encountered any oil or gas, so will now be plugged and abandoned.
The Stena Ice Max rig will now move to the site of the Cebus exploration well (GM-ES-4). Spudding of this well, which will test a new and totally separate fan, is due within the next two weeks.
Shell holds a 45% interest in the license which covers approximately 24,100 sq km offshore Guyane, Tullow holds a 27.5% stake, Total holds a 25% interest and Wessex Exploration and Northern Petroleum hold a 2.5% stake in joint venture.
