Total starts up production at Norway' s Atla field

PARIS -- Total said it has started up production at its Atla gas condensate field in the Norwegian North Sea, two years after completion of exploration drilling.

The Atla field is part of the PL102C license and is located in block 25/5, the group said. It is expected to produce gas at an average flow rate of 14,000 boepd, including 2,500 bopd of condensates in 2013, it also said.

Total has a 40% interest in the field and is the operator. Its partners are Centrica, which owns 20%, Norwegian state owned Petoro, which owns 30%, and Det Norske Oljeselskap, which owns 10%.
