Taqa suspends activity in Kurdistan on instability

ABU DHABI -- Taqa, the Abu Dhabi National Energy Company, has suspended its operations at the Atrush Block in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

As a result of recent developments and escalating instability around the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Taqa has suspended operations at the Atrush Block and, as a precautionary measure, significantly reduced staffing levels.

Taqa continues to closely monitor the security situation with its Atrush partners and the Kurdistan Regional Government. The safety and security of the Company' s staff and paramount importance.

Taqa remains committed to the development of the Atrush Block and expects to start production in 2015.
