Statoil awards well services contracts worth $163 million 

STAVANGER -- Statoil has awarded contracts worth $163 million to Welltec and Aker Well Services for equipment deployment and maintenance on over 40 installations on the Norwegian continental shelf. The contracts relate to wireline tractor services which are used to transport well intervention equipment, such as logging tools, perforating guns and plugs, up to several kilometers in horizontal wells. Wireline tractor services are used to perform remedial work to increase production.
