Statoil awards Schlumberger $342 million deal in Norway

OSLO -- Norwegian oil and gas major Statoil said that the company has awarded a four-year $342 million deal for electric wireline logging services on the Norwegian continental shelf to Schlumberger.

Statoil said the deal covers provision of electric wireline logging services such as open hole logging, cased hole logging, borehole seismic and perforation services. The contract applies for all exploration and production licenses on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

The deal will run from Feb. 1, 2013 and holds the possibility of several extensions, Statoil said.
