Shell revises Arctic plan after damage to containment dome, revises 2012-13 drilling program
LONDON -- Shell, said that the containment dome aboard the Arctic Challenger barge was damaged during tests of the Arctic Containment System in Alaska, adding that the resulting delay has led the company to revise its 2012-2013 drilling program, cancelling plans to drill into hydrocarbon zones this year and instead drilling as many top holes as possible. The company is expected to continue to drill as many top holes as time remaining in this season allows.
